Where I got it
I got this from Mecca Cosmetica as they are the only place in New Zealand that stocks Hourglass in stores and you can go test out the colours as well. These palettes are $128 each, and this is a limited edition palette, not to be mistaken for their annual limited edition palette (Edit 1-4).
What I got
This is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Unlocked. The Unlocked edition features 6 new exclusive shades of powder, bronzer, blush and metallic strobe powder. This 100% vegan palette features the Hourglass symbol representing our commitment to being a cruelty-free brand. A portion of profits from this palette will go to support the Nonhuman Rights Project– the only civil rights organization in the United State working to secure legally recognized fundamental rights for nonhuman animals.
How I find it
This is my first Ambient Lighting Edit palette and previously I have been using either their single ambient lighting powders or their little trio palette. The size of each pan was a little smaller than my expectations, but I guess if it was any bigger, that would be too bulky. However, this palette has all my face powders including blush, bronzer and highlighter! This is definitely worth bringing to travel.
Let’s talk about the shades we have in this palette. From the top left, we have 2 finishing powders: soft light and filtered light. Then we have a bronzing shade golden bronze light. The bottom row from the left we have 2 blushes: nude glow and mood flush. Then we have a metallic strobing powder champagne strobe light.
Soft light is a light beige with warm, golden undertones and a soft matte finish. It has a pearl finish which is not shimmery but gives your skin a soft glow.
Filtered light is a soft, light brown with warm undertones with a satin finish.
Golden bronze light is a medium brown bronzer with a satin sheen finish. It is quite pigmented
Nude Glow is a pinky-peach blush with a golden shimmer. It has a warm undertone and has a nice golden sheen.
Mood flush is a medium pink with a natural finish. It is not shimmery but it has a natural glow to it.
Champagne strobe light is a metallic light-medium champagne.
