Where I got it
Got this from my local L’Occitane store while they were having their extended boxing day sale (from 26/12/18 to 4/1/19). Everything in store (except for their Reset serum and the Divine Range) is 20% off! This is a great time to pick up any cute little gift sets, value sets, refills, anything you want to try basically. I also managed to spend enough from the store to earn a $50 voucher too, so I will be using this to either stock up on my Almond Concentrate body cream or try out their Reset Serum (not on sale). Anyway, this Wonderful Jasmine Melting butter is $38.4 after 20% discount.
What I got
This is a 125ml tin of L’Occitane Wonderful Jasmine Melting Butter. The Wonderful Jasmine Butter is specially designed to address the needs of dry to very dry skin. Containing a high concentration of shea butter (70%), it nourishes and protects the skin. When massaged onto the skin, its “whipped” texture melts into a delicate oil finish to intensely nourish and comfort skin. It can be applied directly to specific areas (feet, knees, elbows, nails) to moisturise and soften dry and very dry zones while enveloping the skin with a subtle jasmine scent.
How I find it
Upon opening the foil seal, I thought it was the same texture as the Ultra Light Cream which has a whipped cream texture. As I touched the cream, I can feel the cream melting on my fingertips and it is a much denser and thicker body cream. This one has 70% shea butter while the Ultra Light Cream only has 5%, so this one is much more moisturising and rich. I would probably reach for this during Winter or concentrate on my dry areas such as my heels, knees and elbows.
Overall
I love that yellow and navy colour combo which is some of the colours of their holiday collection in collaboration with Castelbajac Paris. I would alternate this one with the Ultra Light Cream in the winter and summer months. This special scent – Wonderful Jasmine is rather strong and lingers on for a long time so if you are sensitive to fragrance or if you don’t like this scent, steer clear because you probably won’t be able to stand it. However, I love this jasmine scent, it is a little strong, but if you don’t apply too much, it will leave a nice wash of fragrance around you and you don’t even need to wear perfume!
70% shea butter is quite a lot, therefore the “butter” really does melt into a super moisturising and nourishing body cream. Absolutely suitable for dry skin. This limited edition scent will be discontinued in early January 2019, if you want to try it out, now is the time to try it or stock up!
