L’Occitane Icy Verbena Collection

Where I got it

I was casually visiting my local L’Occitane store to check out any latest offers and discounts and I wasn’t expecting a new range of products! Mostly because L’Occitane’s official Instagram account is based in the US and New Zealand has yet to have their dedicated one, I usually check brand’s Instagram or Facebook page for new product updates and launch dates.

This set, in particular, is summer related, so the US Instagram page did not mention anything about this collection, but the Australia page did. Anyway, they launched 6 new products designed for use in summer (Icy and Citrus Verbena). I grabbed a value box of 3 products for only $92 (value of $120).

What I got

This is a value box set of 3 full sized products from the L’Occitane Icy Verbena Collection. The set includes an Icy Body Shower Gel, Icy Body Gel and an Icy Fragrance Touch. Wake up your skin with a daily refreshment of icy verbena on a hot summer’s day. The cool turquoise translucent gel melts into the skin like a dream to release a menthol-infused sensation.

How I find it

Icy Body Shower Gel ($39 for 250ml). An icy shower for searing heat. The first cooling shower gel at L’Occitane that can be applied on dry skin before showering off for an intense icy effect. Discover the first Verbena Icy Body Shower Gel that can be applied on dry skin for an even more intense icy effect than on wet skin. Immediately refreshed, your skin is perfectly cleansed and delicately perfumed from the fresh and sparkling scent of verbena. For an extended icy effect and daily hydration, apply the Verbena Icy Body Gel after your shower.

I immediately gave this a try as soon as I got this. I went for a half an hour power walk and it was about 23-23 degrees outside. I hopped into the shower with this and lathered it all over my body. The scent is sooooo refreshing of menthol and verbena. The shower gel is clear and upon application, it has a very slight cooling sensation, but as I wash it off it seems to get stronger. I think it also feel cooler when my body is dry, but my sweat is coming through (after exercise). Really like this shower gel and I think my hubby would love it too!

Icy Body Gel ($49 for 150ml). This Verbena Icy Body Gel combines hydration and intense freshness while leaving your skin delicately perfumed with a sparkling scent. An incredible shot of coolness for your body with this hydrating bubble formula enriched with cooling menthol. A warmly recommended shot of freshness!

Can we just look at the minty green shade of this body gel for a minute? The entire packaging is so summery and fresh and just cooling to even look at! The clear gel has air bubbles suspended in it and it smells like menthol and verbena.

While this cooling gel provides a really nice refreshing effect on the skin and keeps the skin hydrated without being sticky, you can keep this in the fridge for extra cooling effect or maybe like an after-sun soothing gel!

Icy Fragrance Touch ($32 for 14ml). Take a burst of freshness with you everywhere you go with this pocket-sized fresh fragrance gel. Apply the Verbena-scented gel to your warm body points for an instant icy rush, with the added benefit of freshening up your scent throughout the day. You’ll smell like a summer breeze, without succumbing to the summer heat.

This is another product that I immediately used. I popped this in my handbag and started applying this when I headed out. That sparkling cool scent that is the same from the shower gel and body gel is more concentrated in this fragrance touch, but still not as intense as an EDT or perfume. The lip balm-like applicator is a soft clear silicone which goes along with the clear packaging scheme for this collection. The product has a lip balm like texture that kinda feels like jelly.

Overall

Everything of this collection from marketing to packaging, and fragrance and texture are all very attractive and so suitable for summer. The colours look cooling to the eyes and the fragrance just refreshes the senses. It just makes me want to hop into the shower all the time with the shower gel and apply the body gel all over my legs and arms. They also have the citrus verbena range which is has a sugar scrub, a body moisturising foam and a hair and body mist. I think it is just a matter of when I’ll go and pick them up. If they have a value pack, that would be even better!
