Where I got it
The little counter around the Mecca checkout is seriously dangerous you know, with all these little mini sized products at a fraction of the price for the real-deal, I always get temped to pick up something because I wanted to try it and don’t want to commit to a full size by forking out big money. So, I got this for $28. Full size is 100ml for $99. The mini size works out to be a little more affordable than the full-size product. 100ml works out to be $0.99/ml and the mini size works to be $0.93/ml. However, the full-size version does have a better bottle packaging.
What I got
This is a mini size (30ml) of the Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser. This innovative formula is infused with moisture-replenishing shea butter and nourishing grapeseed oil to leave skin comfortable, soft and supple. Also at work is Eve Lom’s signature blend of clove, eucalyptus, hops and chamomile oil that act to dissolve all traces of impurities, dirt and makeup. Complexion is left comfortably clean but never tight and is clearer, softer and brighter with each use.
How I find it
Unfortunately, this is not their famous, cult-favourite balm cleanser, but it does have Eve Lom’s signature blend of oils. This one is said to be a low-maintenance, fuss-free cleanser that transforms from a gel to a milky balm upon contact with wet skin.
So I work this gel balm cleanser onto dry skin with makeup, then I massage it on my skin to break down all the makeup. I then rinse off my skin with water and my skin feels nice and clean, but not tight and dry
Overall
I would say that I like this cleanser but I don’t love it. The scent does put me off it, but it does do a good job at cleansing and removing my makeup without making my face feel dry and tight or leave a residue on the skin. I use this as the first part of my double cleanse so I will use another cleanser afterwards.
The scent that puts me off is probably cloves, but the overall texture is very nice. Would not repurchase simply because I already have a few holy grail makeup removers that are way mor budget-friendly. I will give their bestseller cleanser a go next time though!
