Where I got it
I ordered this straight away when this launched on the Mecca Beauty website for $42. I got their Beauty Queen palette in October 2018 and I really loved it. Everything from the sleek and simple packaging to the pigmentation and payoff of the shadows was really impressive. I love the colours, the look of the shadows on the pans and on the eyes, the price was also very reasonable.

How I find it
Ever since purchasing the Beauty Queen palette also by Mecca Max, I really fell in love with these large palettes by Mecca Max. The pan sizes are great, it’s pretty large and they look gorgeous. The packaging of the palette is sleek and slim, you can easily tuck this one in your makeup drawer or display without being bulky. It has a click-close mechanism, it’s not magnetic, so it may feel a little cheap. It features a large mirror, the full size of the palette itself which is uh-mazing! There is simply no waste of palette space which I think is super.
The colours are so gorgeous, this palette focuses also on pinks and reds and browns, there is also this beautiful lavender/purple here. There is a mix of matte shades, marble shades and metallic shades. While the Beauty Queen palette did not have any matte shades, this palette had 4, and they are perfect as a base shade, crease and for blending other colours together. The marble shades are a little hidden-surprise in my opinion. It has the main colour with swirls of the secondary shade to give the base shade a little bit of a twist. The metallic shades are so bold and packs a punch too!
As for the formula of the shadows, the matte shades are a little on the hard formula, not the butter soft formula you would compared to brands like …. the colour pay-off also isn’t that great, so you will need to use an eyeshadow primer and really pack the pigment in to build up the shade.
The metallic shades however, wow, they are pigmented! They are creamy and glides on smoothly and evenly without being crumbly. I love using these all over my lids when I’m feeling like some colour, but don’t wanna fuss about blending in all different shades to create an ombré look, etc. I just slap it on, blend it out, and that’s it.
The marble shades are pretty much the same as the metallic shades when you apply them, it just looks different on the pans. Some marble shades have 1 secondary colour, and some has 2 which changes the base colour slightly, but not to the point where it would look totally different.
I would say that there are 2 rather special shades in here that is quite different than the rest, and it is the deep pinky shade in the middle and the lavender/purple shade on the top row. They both have a duo-chrome effect and they look absolutely beautiful on the skin. the deep pinky red has a purple/blue duo-chrome, while the lavender/purple has a pink duo-chrome.
Overall
So far I have been using this for over 2 months and I really do love it. Some shades are really bold and packs a punch so I haven’t really worn those shades a lot. However, I would add those shades to the corners of my eyes, or as a liner shade, etc. This palette is just so beautiful to look at and the shades do complement each other very well. They are pigmented but not powdery at all. They transfer from the brush to eye very well and if you use your fingertips it is even more intense.
Depending on the colour-story of their next palette, if it has blue and green tones, I will most likely get it. I want to experiment a little and I will most likely experiment with formulas that I already love.
