Dermalogica Clear Start Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask

Where I got it

I got this at Farmers Beauty Week last month when it was on 20% off. RRP $38, so after the discount, it was $30.40. You can get Dermalogica Clear Start products from Farmers, but the entire range is available from Life Pharmacy or from their stores and online.

What I got

This is the Dermalogica Clear Start Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask. Clears pores and blackheads. Use 2–3 times per week, more if needed. This unique mask’s active fizzing formula effectively clears pores and helps target blackheads. How I find it

I’m no stranger to bubble mask (or fizz mask for this instance), there are already heaps on the market, mainly from Korean beauty brands which are actually quite a novelty product in my opinion.

So after cleansing, I use about 2-3 pumps to get good coverage all over my face and neck area. It starts to fizz or bubble up within 5 seconds so I need to work quickly to apply all over my face. I would also try not to go over the same spot again as it would disrupt the bubbling effect.

It says to wait 3-5 mins which are a bit long in my opinion, by about 3 minutes all the bubbles are gone. I guess the product is still working despite the bubbles are all gone. Your whole face will get super itchy from the bubbles forming and then popping and eventually disappear from your face. You are left with a bit of a white clay mask-like layer on top which you need to wash off.

After washing off, my skin feels clean and soft, my pores look cleaner but I can’t say they are cleared. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling red or sensitised.

Overall

The bubbling effect of this mask is intense (lol!) it makes my face feel itchy and I want to scratch it. Afterwards, my skin feels clean and blackheads look cleaner. That effect doesn’t last for a couple of days, so I have been using this a few nights in a row to see if it can really clean out more pores.
