Flower Beauty Primer and Mix n Matte Lip Duo

Where I got it

I was browsing around in The Chemist Warehouse the other day for some vitamins and checking out some new Loreal products and I saw a new stand for the Flower Beauty products! The first time I’ve heard of this brand was about 2 years ago(?) on Tati’s YouTube channel Glamlifeguru. I forgot what exactly was the products she talked about, but I knew Drew Barrymore is the owner behind the brand.

So all their products on the stand were around the $9.99 and $13.99 mark. They have primers, foundation liquid, foundation sticks, loose powders, pressed powders, blushes, bronzers, highlighters, lip products, mascaras, eyeshadow palettes, etc. and the prices were all very similar and nothing over $20 I would say. I got $9.99 for each of these.

What I got

I picked up the Pore-minimising primer and the Mix n Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude. Both are $9.99 each. I did contemplate on getting the foundation but there were so high up on the stand I couldn’t really reach them. Also the shades were a little hard to match as well in that interior crapping lighting. I was also quite interested in their highlighters and powders, but I’ll see how I go with these two products first.

How I find it

Pore-Minimizing Primer

This primer has a slight green tint which can colour-correct to some extent, but once it blends out, it is totally undetectable. The primer does contain some silicones, therefore gives this smooth feel on the skin, but it’s not slippery smooth to the point that your foundation or anything you put on afterwards will slip and slide. It does blurs my pores especially around the cheeks area where my pores are large, but no blackheads. Where I have a bit of blackheads, like my nose area, it doesn’t do a heck of a lot.

I do like how my foundation goes on top, there are no bunching, no pilling, no weird patches as well. Besides making my foundation go on smoother, I didn’t find that it lengthen my foundation wear at all.

Mix and Matte Lip Duo in Honey Nude.

This lip duo has a matte lipstick on one end and a metallic/shimmery lip gloss on the other end. The box states that you can achieve different looks with this duo, obviously applying these on their own, put them on top of each other and you can also use these under or on top of other products.

The lip duo shade I choose is a pinky nude shade with a slightly metallic shade to match. The matte lipstick is not very matte, but a very comfortable creamy lipstick. You can see what it looks like on my lips below.

Overall

I really like the lip duo, especially the shade I chose. Very wearable on a daily basis. It’s not drying on the lips which is very comfortable to wear. The primer wasn’t that amazing really, it’s a good primer to prep the skin, but I wouldn’t miss it. I have other primers in my drawers that works better. So this one is not a repurchase for me too. I do want to try their foundation or loose powder, but when I’m in the mood for trying another foundation out.
