Legend Age lipstick

Where I got it

Out of nowhere, I found that some of my Asian friends on Facebook are selling these lip balms or lipsticks that claim to be so amazing and so revolutionary. I looked into it briefly and they are a lip balm product from China that is ultra-hydrating and changes colour once it is in contact with your lips (ie. heat and pH levels). Their sales structure is kind of a like Avon or Usana, those type of tiered sales system that is really popular and common in Asia.

I got a little interested and asked one of my friends for more information. They are not on Facebook or Instagram as an organisation, but the individual consultant might have their own page. Otherwise, their main platform for consultant support is via WeChat and Weibo (correct me if I am wrong, I don’t have Weibo personally, so I can’t check).

I got this from her for $42 which is not exactly cheap for what it is, but I had high hopes for it. If you are interested in getting one, message me and I can hook you up with my friend. I don’t make a commission and I am not an affiliate or consultant to this brand.

What I got

This lipstick is called Legend Age Lipstick (lip balm?). This is essentially a lip balm that claims to have multiple uses and benefits:

  • A tinted lip balm that changes colour when in contact with air or warmth of your skin. The shade of pink looks different on everyone’s lips because you have a different natural lip colour.
  • A protective lip balm that you can wear underneath any other lip colour as a protective layer to prevent skin’s absorption of toxins from your lip colours.
  • Lip mask that you can apply a few layers at night and place cling film over for 15 mins as an intensely hydrating treatment.
  • Eye gloss to be applied on the eyes for a light tint of colour as well as moisturisation.
  • Cheek gloss and colour when applied to the cheeks to create that glow with a hint of colour.

I’ll also give some background information here:

  • It has 3.8g of product in a twist-up lipstick bullet packaging.
  • Contains mango seed oils, sunflower seed oils, lanolin, beeswax, Vitamin E, etc.
  • Black plastic packaging is quite sleek and good quality.
  • No fragrance or scent at all, also tasteless.
  • Made in China, passing many tests for toxic ingredients such as lead, mercury and other heavy metals.
  • Cruelty-free, paraben-free, all-natural ingredients.
  • Safe for use for children and pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How I find it

From the get-go, this looks like any ordinary lipstick or lip balm. The case is a little dated in my opinion, but since it’s black and gold, it’s not too bad. When you twist it up, the yellow colours lip balm looks nothing special.

There’s nothing much to it really, just twist up and apply as you would a normal lip balm. I use it in the morning, during the day and at night before I sleep. It hydrated and moisturised my lips very comfortably without feeling heavy and greasy whatsoever, it is not too slippery and most of my lipstick goes on top fine without moving around.

I haven’t actually used it anywhere else other than my lips and throughout the winter months, I have had no problems with the lip balm melting or breaking up but I’m getting to the bottom of the tube after about 1 month’s worth of use. I will probably get another tube because I really do like it and it gives my lips a nice tint that I don’t need to worry about smudging.

Overall

I do recommend this lip balm. Even though in the first go, I was sceptical because it did come from China and I don’t really know what the standard is like for the manufacturing and production of the product. But since it has been raved about so much (even by Chinese celebrities), and so many people use it and swear by it, I gave it a try. Honestly, I loved it and it does what it claims to do. When I wear a small handbag and space for a lip balm and lipstick is really tight, I take this with me because it is a balm and tint in one.

I honestly really like how the tint looks like on my lips. It’s a really healthy pinky, coral tint that is not obnoxious and makes my overall face looks healthy and bright. $42 for a lip balm is quite the price for a high-end lipstick or lip balm, so it’s not something that I would probably use often during the day and in the long run?

Do you have any recommendations for a tinted lip balm out there I can try and compare it with? Please comment and let me know!
