Where I got it
I was at Farmers the other day just browsing and I saw these new products from Revlon and the packaging looked really cute so I thought I would go check out Chemist Warehouse the following day to see if they have it cheaper (they usually do). Later that night, I received an email from Farmers that they will be doing a 3-day 30% off sale for all Revlon products, so the next day I quickly dropped by Chemist Warehouse to check out the prices and surprisingly Farmers worked out to be cheaper with the 30% off offer (plus beauty club points).
So I head into Farmers to pick out the shades I wanted – I picked up 1 Glow Lip Oil and 2 Cloud Blotted Lip Color and they were all RRP$22, after discount they were $15.40 each. Not too bad for a lip product right?
What I got
These are the Revlon Kiss Glow Lip Oil and Cloud Blotted Lip Color. The lip oil shade I got was 008 Berry Brilliant and the 2 Cloud Blotted Lip Color I got was 013 Whipped Hazelnut and 011 Spun Sugar. *After about a week, I went to Chemist Warehouse to get another lip oil (Bouncy Beige) and another cloud blotted lip (pink marshmallow)*
How I find it
Kiss Glow Lip Oil (6ml). Sheer coverage, for a glowing natural shine with a subtle hint of colour. Deep nourishment and comfortable colour. Lip conditioning oil complex and high levels of glycerin. Comes in 4 shades.
This is a tinted lip oil that provides heaps of gloss. It glides on the lips easily and the tint adds a nice colour to the lips. You can wear this alone for a sheer wash of colour or you can wear this on top of a lipstick to get a more pigmented lip with extra gloss. It does leave a tint on the lips which is quite pretty, but the gloss wears off relatively fast.
I have just watched a YouTube video by Beauty News and they discovered that these lip oils may be electromagnetically charged so that extra products do not stick into the wand. It really is quite interesting. So if you pull the wand out from the tube, the formula will try to go back into the tube! I tried it straight away with my one and it worked for a couple of time, then it wore off. I went into the store to try the testers and they all did the same thing! So interesting! Oh, and I also got another shade of this lip oil while I was there too, but I got it from The Chemist Warehouse and they were on sale for $17.
Cloud Blotted Lip Color (2ml). Soft velvet suede texture for a diffused matte lip look. Comfortable colour with care ingredients. Nourishing ingredients of milk thistle lipolami, coconut oil, and cottonseed oil. 10 shades in total.
I really enjoy these blotted lip colours, so much so that I went to get another shade from The Chemist Warehouse (004 Pink Marshmallow). The application feels airy, soft and smooth. It’s not streaky or crumbly at all. It has no scent at all but it does leave a tint on the lips, more than the glow oil.
After application, the formula does look quite matte, but a velvety matte. Lips are not super hydrated but I do use a lip balm underneath to enjoy my lips are properly moisturised before I use this lip product. The shade options are really beautiful and they do have more pinks and reds. They also have peaches, nudes, oranges and mauve shade, but no shades of plum or purple.
Overall
I’ve been really enjoying these lip oils and blotted lip colours as you can see I went to get more! They had some really bright pinks and oranges which I can’t wear with my skintone. However, both formulas are really good! If you are into a more glossy look, go for the lip oil – it gives a nice sheen to the lips without that too slippery feeling and no stickiness as well. The Cloud blotted lips are more of a natural finish look with a velvety texture on the lips. It does dry down after a while so I would suggest making sure your lips are not dry and flaky to achieve the best outcome.
I like to wear both these formulas alone or even layer the lip oil on top of the blotted lip colour – just add a little bit of the lip oil on top and you get that shine over the beautiful lip colour from the blotted lip.
