Where I got it
I was talking to my colleague the other day about my new Chanel Rouge Allure Ink and how much I’m loving it as of late. She told me about how her sister loves the Chanel waterproof eyeliner so I went to my closest Chanel counter and check it out myself. I picked up a dark brown shade 20 Espresso and it was $56.

What I got
This is the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliner in shade 20 Espresso (0.3g). A waterproof eye pencil that traces intense eyes. Its very long-lasting line resists water, humidity and sebum. Its retractable tip and integrated pencil sharpener facilitate application. A blend of film-forming agents and waxes for a gentle and comfortable formula. Silicone resin for a waterproof texture that resists humidity and doesn’t run.

How I find it
I haven’t bought a pencil eyeliner or a gel eyeliner for years because I have never been able to find an eyeliner that does not smudge, melt or transfer on my eye area. I have combination oily skin and my eye area can get a little oily during the day. I also have hooded eyes so that doesn’t help. I also don’t use eyeliner on a daily basis because liquid eyeliners are quite bold and glam, while a pencil is more natural.

Overall
I like to wear pencil or gel eyeliner thinly along the upper lash line because that always looks more natural. It also makes my lashes look fuller and thicker especially at the base. The dark brown shade is perfect for work, for the weekend, for a night out, every occasion!
I wore this for the first time in the weekend from 7am – 3pm without melting or smudging. There was a little fading at the wing area but it didn’t melt or migrate to my lower eye area which I’m ok with. I’m impressed.

I’m wearing this again today for a longer day I applied it on 7am, at around 7pm I cleaned off some of the transfer at the bottom of my eye and reapplied because I needed to head out. I ended up wearing it until 11pm which did minimal smudged despite my eyes being a bit watery by about 9pm.
Guess what I’m wearing everyday now? I seem to have gained confidence with self-proclaimed waterproof gel liners now, I might try other brands as well. Otherwise I’ve just going to get other colours from Chanel.
