Where I got it
I was checking out the new products at Meccabeauty.co.nz lately and I saw a couple of new brands and products that really interests me – Jouer, Morphe, the new MAC x Pony collection and the new Too Faced Hangover Rx setting sprays. I went in store the other day, and ended up picking up this primer/setting spray for $55. This is limited edition and they have a watermelon extract version as well which smells like watermelons.
What I got
This is the LIMITED EDITION Too Faced Hangover Rx 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer and Setting Spray with Peach Extract (120ml). For a limited time, the multitasking mist you love is available with a delicious peach scent. The three-in-one mist will prime skin, set makeup and refresh as needed. Skin will be left nourished, bright and smooth.
Key ingredients:
Coconut water: replenishes the skin’s moisture levels without over-hydrating.
Peach extract: infused for a delicious peaches and cream scent.
How I find it
Being a big fan of the Too Faced Peach collection, I am so happy to have this in my collection as well. I have never tried their original Hangover Rx setting spray so this is the perfect excuse! Let me just soak in all the prettiness of the packaging – the peach to deep pink ombre is simply to die for! It comes in a box and the bottle is a good size to grab, with a plastic lid.
This product is a hybrid product where you can use it as a primer spray or a setting spray – I’ve never owned or used something like this before. As a primer: spray it onto your face evenly and let it set before applying foundation. You can also spray it onto a damp makeup sponge and then use it to apply and blend your foundation for a longer-lasting stay. As a setting spray: simply spray is all over your face as the last step of your makeup to set everything down.
I had a full-face Too Faced day where I used the Primed & Peachy cooling primer to prime my t-zone, used this primer spray to prime my entire face. Then I used the Perfect Peach Foundation in Vanilla all over my face. I didn’t have a Too Faced concealer so I used my beloved Shiseido Skin-refreshing concealer and set everything down with the Peach Perfect loose setting powder. Then I lightly dab some Peach Frost highlighter to my cheekbones and topped it up with the Dew You Fresh Glow loose powder. I then set everything down with this Hangover Rx setting spray.
Overall
I am loving this setting spray from the scent to the efficacy. I have heard good things about the Hangover range before especially the primer and setting spray. I am so glad they brought out the peach and watermelon version!
The setting spray does prolong the wear of my foundation, blush, highlighter, everything! I like to use it as a setting spray more than a primer spray. I like how it’s not mattifying or dewy but it just leaves you makeup looking fresh and smooth.
