Where I got it
I got this from my local Dior beauty counter in Farmers. After my Dior facial earlier this year, I started to take an interest in Dior skincare and makeup products. My first two products were the One Essential Skin-Boosting Super Serum and the Time to Glow Ultra Fine Exfoliating Powder. This micellar milk was $76, and this is the first product out of the three I have started using and is already finished. I’ll let you know who I find this product, let’s go!
What I got
This is a 200ml bottle of the Dior Hydra Life Micellar Milk. This micellar milk combines the cleansing power of oil micelles with the nourishing properties of rice milk to eliminate all traces of makeup and impurities on the face and eye contour. Upon contact with the skin, its luxurious texture transforms into an emulsion as fine and fresh as water to gently comfort the skin, with no greasy or sticky feel. Contains natural-origin micelles to capture the most stubborn makeup particles and Rice milk protein to stimulate skin disturbed by makeup removal.
How I find it
First of all, I was really intrigued when the lady at the counter told me it was micellar milk. So it starts off as cleansing milk (milky texture and colour) and then it turns into a micellar cleanser (not exactly water, it just turns translucent). It is also a no-rinse formula, but who are we kidding, I will always rinse any type of cleanser off (even micellar water, even though I don’t use them anymore).
Anyway, this is supposed to be the first step of cleansing (makeup removal). So I use about 5-6 pumps of this cleanser onto my dry hands and then massage the milky cleaner all over my face. The cleanser has quite a nice milky texture to start with and then upon a couple of seconds of massaging it turns translucent and almost turns watery, but not to the point that it will drip.
You can see the cleanser turns from a translucent white milky texture to semi-translucent milk mixed with the makeup on my skin. I give it a good 1-2 min massage (I also use this on my eyes, but not my lips). You can then either wipe it off with cotton pads or like me, rinse it off with water for a quick, thorough and more sustainable clean (not using multiple cotton pads). Washing off needed a little help with my hands and it does have a slippery texture. It doesn’t leave a residue or any film on the skin so I’m pretty good with that.
Overall
I have finished the entire bottle of this micellar milk and even though this is really gentle and soothing to the skin, it doesn’t really cleanse thoroughly. It it great as a morning cleanser or if you wear light makeup or just sunscreen during the day. If you have sensitive skin or dry skin, you might like this too. But there is fragrance, so beware if you are sensitive to fragrance.
Regardless, it is a really pleasant cleanser to use and I don’t regret buying it, but I will probably try something else after this.
