Where I got it
This has been one of the palettes I’ve been wanting to get from ColourPop simply because I love the purple theme and I hardly have anything in my makeup collection with these beautiful purples, lavenders and lilac shades. I have a number of eyeshadow palettes that I know I will never in my life finish them all, that’s why I’ve been pulling myself from buying any new ones.
However, I gave in when I was ordering the new ColourPop x Bitti Collection and whilst ColourPop was also doing 20% off everything, I just added this to my cart for USD$9.60 which is only around NZS$15. For 9 shades, that’s a very good price! I ordered this on Friday and got shipping email on Tuesday. It was delivered on Thursday!
What I got
This is the ColourPop Lilac You A Lot Palette (9 x 1.0g). A whole lotta lilac in our dreamiest palette yet. Create your best looks with our lilac monochromatic palette that features buttery matte shadows and eye-catching metallics. One swatch is all it takes to fall in love.
There is a mixture of 2 eyeshadow formulas:
Pressed powder shadow – highly pigmented shadow that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. this long-wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft-focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly. Finish: metallic, matte. Shade: Cloud, Imagine That, Wake Me, Fluff and Trainwreck.
Pressed pigment – a vibrant and creamy formula that delivers maximum payout for an intense look. Finish: matte. Shade: Ghostin’, Zoned Out, Iffy and Filtered.
How I find it
The palette came in card sleeve and a plastic sheet to protect the shadows. There was also a sticker on the mirror to protect it as well. The shadows look so beautiful and the palette was perfect – no broken pans, flying powder, or any signs of damage.
I really appreciate the large mirror and the shade names next to each pan. It had a nice mixture of metallics and mattes. The darker shades are matte to create a more deeper eye look, the metallic shades are more on the mid to lighter tones. They look gorgeous on the pan and swatches in my arm.
Overall
Here are some of the looks I created with this palette, my usual go-to looks are usually a simple hint of colour and a bit of shimmer/metallic. I do experiment with glitter too, but probably less like for work. I usually go for neutrals, browns, golds and pinks, but I have been wanting to try a little bit of purple or lilac in this case so I am quite happy with this palette and how it turns out. I go for the light to medium tones usually and focus the darker shades of the outer corners.
I’m no makeup artist or expert, I just like to experiment with a bit of colours to the point that I would wear everyday. Just have fun with makeup!
