Where I got it
In early March, I purchased a bunch of Chanel makeup from Farmers because it was beauty week and you get double points for all brands including Chanel and Dior which only happens maybe once a year. Honestly, the best time to stock up or try new products. The first thing I saw as I walked to the counter is this new liquid eyeliner stand along with their new mascara. The liquid eyeliner comes in 7 shades and they are $72 each. I got this in shade 514 Ultra Brun and 516 Rouge Noir.
What I got
This is the Le Liner De Chanel in 514 Ultra Brown and 516 Rouge Noir. A liquid eyeliner with a flexible yet precise brush for easy application in one stroke. Applied at the base of the upper lashes and the outer corner of the eye (for an intense result), it accentuates and widens the eyes in one step. Its long-wear formula leaves a latex-like film which allows you to stretch the line out fully. Waterproof and smudge-proof, the makeup result is extremely intense all day long.
How I find it
It claims to be waterproof so I decided to try it. This liquid eyeliner is the kind that has a little well at the shorter end and you hold the longer end for better control. It has a soft sponge tip that holds a lot of product so I need to wipe off any excess around the rim each time I dip it in.
I usually curl my lashes before I do any eye makeup because my lashes are short and if I curl them right at the end, my lash curler would mess up my eye shadow and eyeliner because I had to get real close to the lash roots. If you guys have any recommendations or tips, please fire them through! So I would do my eyeshadows and apply the liquid eyeliner last, starting from the inner corner and draw along the lash line, I like to slightly thicken the outer corner a little without a wing for work, I just want my eyeliner to open up my eyes and give the illusion of bigger eyes.
The eyeliner dried pretty fast to an almost matte finish, the dark brown looks almost black on my eyes, but I’m cool with that. It is so easy to apply and dries down quickly so it’s not messy, you just need to be decisive and know what kind of eyeliner you want before you apply it. If I am doing a winged eyeliner look, I would probably line my eyes with a pencil first, not a gel-liner though, they don’t really work well together. I map it out and then use the liquid liner to go over it.
Overall
The wear of this eyeliner is pretty top-notch. I was able to wear it for at least 8 hours without running, melting or smudging. I did manage to rub a little bit off in the outer corner of my eye, but it was wiped clean, instead of smudged and looking dirty. It didn’t flake off and the colour stayed true. I am wearing this daily now, alternator between the brown and this burgundy colour, it’s beautiful when combined with pinky, purple eyeshadow.
However, if I do want to pick more colours, I would probably go for something like black, I don’t think I can rock the blue or any light colours and metallics.
