Oskia Liquid Mask Lactic Acid Micro-peel

Where I got it

I got this from my friend who wants to remain anonymous, but she is an amazing “skinfluencer”. She asked if I would be interested in this because she has a lot of products to review already and would love to pass this onto someone who would appreciate it. It has been opened and tested, but under very hygienic practice so I am very comfortable buying off her. She offered this to me for $80 and this is usually £65.00.

What I got

This is the Oskia Liquid Mask Lactic Acid Micro-peel (30ml). An overnight radiance and conditioning peel containing 10% lactic acid, super-nutrients, multi-vitamins and anti-oxidants to visibly illuminate and improve skin condition and texture. Lactic acid powerfully but safely exfoliates while boosting moisture levels to rejuvenate, revitalise and brighten while you skin sleeps. Superior hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates and plumps. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) evens skin tone and reduces the appearance of skin blemishes, pores, congestion and boosts skin immunity. Red Snow and Black Carrot extract protect against free-radical damage, while patented Cactus Stem extract, Pro-vitamin B5 and MSM condition while calming redness and irritation.

Ingredients: Water (aqua), Lactic Acid, Dimethyl Sulfone (MSM), Maltodextrin, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol (ProVitamin B5), Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Arginine, Camellia Japonica Flower Extract, Subtilisin, Lipase, Daucus Carota Sativa (Black Carrot) Juice, Propanediol, Citric Acid.

How I find it

Before receiving this product, I actually had no idea what it is, what it does and how to use it. I only knew it was an acid product, lactic acid to be specific. I thought it was a mask that you had to remove, but actually you don’t need to. Let’s have a look at this product.

I was pleasantly surprised by the colour and how lightweight this is. I was expecting a thicker consistency and a rather strong chemical scent, but there was no scent at all. Lactic acid is one of the more gentle acids from the common lot (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, mandelic acid, citric acid, etc.), but it is derived from milk and there have been articles that warn people who are lactose intolerant to stay away from lactic acid. Do your research.

The serum soaks in really quickly and I was able to apply another serum on top and I have been using a peptide serum and then a retinol cream on top. They all work well together without creating sensitivity issues or irritation to my skin.

Overall

I have been using this Liquid Mask for almost a month now, always at night and most of the time with my retinol cream as well and I am really seeing a difference in the brightness of my skin and how glowy it is. I still have those annoying bumps and breakouts around my jaw that is caused by hormonal imbalance, but that doesn’t stop my cheeks and forehead from looking bright and tight! I simply love how easily absorbed it is on my skin, it leaves no residue and I let this sink in before any other serum at night and my skin drinks it up without looking red or feeling irritated.

I am only about a third of a way through the bottle because I use this only at night. I am expecting to finish this bottle in about 2-3 months and I hope to see some improvements on my breakouts.
