Where I got it
I have been on a row with luxury makeup, especially Chanel and Dior for some reason. I have also looked into Tom Ford, but since it is hard to access Tom Ford beauty physically, I haven’t gone absolutely crazy over it because I like to try out shades before I buy, especially with eyeshadow quads that are over $120.
I usually get my Dior beauty products from Farmers in Botany Town Centre because that is the closest to me, but this time I picked this up from Life Pharmacy in Sylvia Park for $63. It comes in around 25 shades on the Dior website, but at the Dior counter in Life Pharmacy, there was around 15-18 shades available, only 15 shades from Sephora.nz.
What I got
This is the Dior Addict Stellar Halo Shine Lipstick in 667 Pink Star (3.2g). Dior Addict Stellar Halo Shine is the iconic Dior lip shine with a new starry center. Poured into the stick and infused with pink and gold pearlescent micro-pigments, this Dior lucky star highlights the colour with a newfound halo shimmer for 8 hours of unparalleled shine. This balm glides on with incredible sensoriality and instantly melts on contact with the lips. The luscious lip care formula creates a fine film infused with aloe vera for 24h hydration and long-lasting comfort, wrapped in the soft, addictive scent of vanilla with a hint of musk.
How I find it
This lipstick has a star-shaped hydrating core which looks white before you start using it. Once you start using the lipstick, you can hardly see the star in the centre. The lipstick around the core is a nice splash of colour with a hint of shimmer, not glittery, but slight shimmer. The texture doesn’t feel creamy or gel-like, but it is a little harder and gritty than expected. It’s almost like you can feel the shimmer particles in the lipstick, but not really. It definitely isn’t the texture I was expecting for a luxury lipstick with hydrating core, and it doesn’t feel extremely hydrating as well, but it does feel comfortable during wear.
Overall
Everything aboiut this lipstick is pretty good except for the application. What I mean for that is how gritty the lipstick feels on the lips instead of a cream, balm-like texture I was expecting. The shade, the wear and the comfort on the lips were all very nice, you can’t really feel the shimmer particles or “grittiness” at all once it is on your lips, but it isn’t long-wearing. I have tried a few other Dior lipsticks and liquid lipsticks and this is probably the least favourite from me.
