Where I got it
I recently grew a liking on luxury makeup for the likes of Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, etc. I picked up a couple of Dior lipsticks and their Diorshow mascara and loved it! Their Lip Tattoos are my favourite right now because I love their texture, longevity, pigmentation, packaging, everything! I decided to venture more into their makeup and I decided to pick up a lipgloss, and I did at a Dior counter at my local Farmers store for $60. I picked this colour up because it has a relatively less opaque base and this shade was more shimmery with a hint of metallic to it, but it wasn’T bold. It seemed nice as a topper so I decided on this one because I commit to a glossy red/pink.
What I got
This is the Dior Addict Stella Gloss (629 Mirrored). Dior’s first lip gloss with stellar shine that cares for lips like a lip balm—leaving lips smoothed, nurtured, and ultra-glossy. A gloss that covers the lips with shine, reflecting the light with a spectacular mirror effect for a more plumped appearance.
How I find it
One of the main reasons I buy Dior lipstick is its packaging. The clear tube and the silver cap makes this look so sophisticated. I picked this shade up because it beautiful glitter with a sheer bronze tint. The lipgloss formula feels rather thick and the tint does show even on my pigmented lips.
As a gloss, I can wear this with or without a lipstick underneath. The gloss is semi-opaque so I don’t prefer wearing a thick layer on its own because it can make my skin tone look washed out. I like to just dab a bit in the middle and blot it out.
Overall
Personally, I am a lipstick kinda gal and I often would reach for a lipstick instead of a gloss. I hate that sticky feeling and have always though glossy, wet-looking lips are for teenagers. This lipgloss isn’t mind-blowing or life-changing. I would still prefer a lipstick, but this lip gloss is quite nice to be layered over something else. There is a hint of stickiness to it and a bit of thickness, but it’s nothing that would make me stay away from it.
The shade is really pretty on my lips, either on its own or on top of another lip color. It’s not too metallic or sparkly so I can easily wear this without a colour base. I will probably get a more pigmented shade to see how that goes, but I doubt that I will reach for this formula a lot simply because gloss is quite high maintenance and tends to dry down to a crust on my lips. I will see how it goes the next time I visit the counter and check out their shades again.
