Where I got it
After trying out a couple of great lip products from Dior, I decided to try more. At that moment, I saw a Dior makeup sale on Nzsale and looked through their lipstick options, I ended up picking this up from for $61. These are available from places like Farmers, Smith & Caughey, Sephora, etc. for approx $63. I didn’t really get a great bargain here from NZsale and I realised that is usually the case now. The prices from NZsale are not necessary the best and you do risk getting old stock or extremely slow delivery. I would strongly suggest checking your other retailers and carefully read the description from NZsale and check if you are free samples from other retailers or even a loyalty rewards system. Check shipping costs as well!
What I got
This is the Dior Addict Lacquer Stick in 857 Hollywood Red. Dior Addict Lacquer Stick, the new-generation lacquer stick by Dior, as easy to apply as it is to wear. A stick with a “lip fondant” effect that liberates all the colour and shine of a lacquer, plus the comfort of a balm, with 6 hours* of wear and unrivaled texture.
How I find it
This red shade is super bright and pigmented! So glossy and bright! I was really shocked when I first applied it straight from the bullet to my lips because it was so glossy and pigmented at the same time. The red shade looks amazing for a night out but you can also tone it down by just dabbing it on the lips and then blending it out for a blotted lip look. I would recommend using a lip liner to get the edges perfect, then apply the lipstick because it was just a little difficult to get crisp lines with a bullet lipstick in my opinion.
Overall
I am absolutely stoked to feel how creamy this lipstick is and that glossy finish! I need to check out more colours, but probably not something that is everyday wear, it would be something that is bold. I can easily find a good formula for something that is more neutral, or kind of my-lips-but-better that is more affordable. For me, a bright red lip needs to have that perfect finish and pigmentation, otherwise the whole thing will look dry and lack-lustre.
