Where I got it
I have always been interested in Tom Ford Beauty, but man are they expensive! Smith and Caughey is probably the only place I can buy them in NZ and I have already seen this brand on discount twice this year so I thought I will splurge and get something from them. I wanted to get a foundation, but decided against it because I already have tonnes of foundation that I will never use up and there is more of a chance I use their eye shadow instead. I tossed between their eyeshadow and their lipsticks, but I have seen so much rave about their eyeshadow palettes for years so I decided to get a quad. This palette was RRP $160 down to $136 which is officially the most expensive eyeshadow quad I have ever bought and ever own. I ordered this on 18th May, i finally got my hands on it on 12th June because they had a stock discrepancy in store and they needed to wait for stock to arrive. They didn’t tell me this until I emailed them on the 4th June. At least this came in one piece!
What I got
This is the Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in 04 Honeymoon. Long-wearing, multi-dimensional, ultra-pigmented. An eyeshadow quad designed with four complementary shades to achieve multiple looks. From a bold, smoky eye to a sexy slash of colour and everything in between. The centerpiece of the Tom Ford Colour Collection. Each eye colour quad is designed with four opulent complement shades that achieve multiple looks. Formulated with advaced colour processess, the four luxurious finishes sheet sparkle, satin, shimmer and matte offer a spectrum of intensity and effects and deliver incredible shade fidelity and outstanding adhesion. Two custom applicators included. Honeymoon feature one-of-a-kind technology that wraps concentrated pigments for a colour-true, highly polised, multi-dimensional look. May be applied for a sleek and shimmering look or wet for a bold effect.
How I find it
After ordering the palette, I did some google searches on the most popular Tom Ford Eye Color Quad shades and this one seems to be one of the top 5 for a lot of people, so I was actually quite relieved. When I got the palette, it came in a card box with the Tom Ford logo at the front in gold letter with the dark brown background. The quad comes with its own velvet pouch just like you would get from Chanel or Dior.
The compact has no buttons to open up, but it is magnetic so you just pull up the top from the gold bar at the bottom and you will see the gorgeous shades on display. It comes with two small applicators and a plastic protector.
Overall
I love mostly everything about this palette, it has a nice base shade, transition shade, the pop of colour shade and a deeper shade for a smokey look. I often prefer my eyeshadows to have a sheen or shimmery so I am not pendantic about no matte shades in this palette. The shimmer is really fine so they are not sparkly at all. The entire think looks sophisticated, not like kid’s makeup.
I really love the formula and the pan size, it is really easy to access, easy for my brush to pick up product without making a mess and then blend seamlessly together. The only downside is how expensive it is. $160 for a 4-pan palette is way too expensive for me and I am more than content with a Natasha Denona palette already so I may not repurchase another one of these unless they are on sale again and I absolutely love the shades.
This is a daytime look I really like using this palette. I used all 3 shades and not the smokey shade for the day time and even if I do, I will use it as a liner shade and stick it close to my lashline.
