Where I got it
My 5th box from Mintd and I am still as excited and impressed as any previous boxes. By the end of last month, I have been eagerly waiting and diligently checking my emails and IG for as sneak peak to the August box. For subscribers, each month I am charged on the 1st of the month £95, which comes to NZD$153.47 with the current currency exchange. This months box is worth £310. So to put that into perspective, the Oskia brightening serum in this box is RRP£90.00 which is approximately NZD$175 and you need to order it overseas like CultBeauty.com, it’s not available in Sephora.nz or Mecca Maxima. Therefore, this box only cost me $153 is amazing value right??
So this box is usually send out in early August and I usually expect some delays because it is shipped out from the UK to New Zealand, it will usually take at least a few days. I used to have it shipped to my workplace, but after I got the shipping notification from Mintd, New Zealand went into another lockdown and we all worked from home because our office is closed (until level 1). Anyway, I finally got my hands on this box on 17/9/20 which is quite delayed, but at least it’s not lost! I already know what the next box is and it is already on its way to me as well.

How I find it
Oskia Skincare Renaissance Brightlight Intensive Pigmentation & Dark Spot Serum. The ingredients list of this product is pretty long and there are so many oils! This serum has broken all of my expectations – I was expecting this serum to be oily and heavy, but to my surprise this orange-coloured serum feels ultra lightweight – almost like a watery gel! I also expected this serum to have a citrus scent, but it smells strongly of rose. If you are sensitive to scent, you probably want to steer away from this. The lightweight serum goes on the skin nicely and spreads easily. It is absorbed rather fast and leaves no residue, but also does not provide any hydration or moisture.
Albiva ECM Advanced Repair Eye Lift. Not everybody uses an eye cream because eye creams are pretty much glorified moisturisers, I usually just apply moisturiser to my eye area if I forget to apply eye cream. This one has a moisturising, creamy formula which feels nourishing. Peptides is something I am trying out at the moment, for my skin, not just for my eye area because I have heard some good things about it for anti-ageing. So for this eye cream or serum, I am quite excited about the peptides in here. If I were to go travelling, I could easily take this bottle of eye cream and use it as face cream because it is so lightweigth and hydrating.
Kalmar Calm Soothing Body Cream. Soothing isn’t usually what I look for in a body moisturiser, but this body cream is quite light and hydrating. It certainly has a soothing scent to calm your sense. The texture of this body cream looks almost like a sorbet, so it doesn’t looks thick and opaque if you know what I mean. When I apply it on my skin, it feels cooling and it massages easily into the skin leaving a fresh scent which my hubby mentioned to me that it smells kind of like men’s skincare or body care? The scent is quite strong and nothing that I have used.
Jorgobe Refreshing Scrub Mask. I wasn’t actually expecting much of this scrub mask before I actually tried it. It has a thick clay-based formula with quite large particles for the scrubbing action. Ingredients indicate black jojoba beads and it does feel quite abrasive so I like to use a thicker layer and just really gently glide the product over my face instead of scrubbing. First time I tried it, I used it as a quick scrub and decided to leave it on my skin for a mintue or so. Goodness me, it gave my skin tingles and it felt really minty fresh. I washed it off after about a minute because the tingle was getting a bit much. After washing off, my skin felt really minty cool for at least 5 minutes and I immediately knew that my husband would give this a try and it is definitely something I would use once a week at the most. It is quite an abrasive scrub which is probably great for the body (chest and back).
Overall
This box definitely gives me refreshing vibes, mainly from the scrub mask and the Oskia serum. We are heading into Spring here down in the Southern Hemisphere and this box is great for getting out of that Winter dullness. I am most excited about the Oskia serum because I really want to do something about my PIH and I want to brighten my overall skintone. I was pleasantly surprised by the Jorgobe scrub mask because it is so minty fresh and cooling, but I need to be really careful with this one because it feels quite abrasive. The Kalmar body cream looks and feels really nice on the skin and this would be great as a light-weight body moisturiser for the hotter weather ahead. Last but not least, the eye lift serum, I definitely need to try it out a bit more because I either don’t really care about eye creams or I have really high expectations for what they do for my skin.
I try to do an unboxing video of all my beauty subscription boxes and a try-on video as well over on my IG (@kittiemui), so please follow me on IG and let’s chat about skincare!
