Where I got it
I got a little sample from my friend Gillian a few months ago and I really enjoyed this hydrating mask. She then offered me this full-sized version for a fraction of the price and I jumped to the offer. Seed to Skin is an Italian brand and their products are not the most afforable products in the market. In fact, this mask here is RRP €97.54 which is approx. NZD$171 for a 50ml jar..
What I got
This is the Seed to Skin The Golden Dew (50ml). Deep moisturising mask that smooths the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and visibly plumps and refines the skin for a deliciously dewy look. The texture is lightweight, almost watery, and sinks into your skin immediately. An intensive hydro-gel mask that contains a powerful combination of naturally hydrating ingredients aimed at providing an immediate and long-lasting moisturising effect as well as instant improvement in wrinkle appearance. Calendula extract is a soothing humectant, Pseudoalteromonas Exopolysaccharide (a new discovery in natural bio technology) is a marine ferment that acts like a Hyaluronic Acid to powerfully attract moisture to the skin, Hyaluronic Acids of three different molecular weights (200,000 dalton, 5000 dalton and 2000 dalton, the smallest naturally derived size), Rosehip oil rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants which are integral for tissue and cell regeneration in the skin, Aloe Vera and Rose Water all combine to give maximum moisture levels to your skin.

How I find it
From the jar, it looks a little underwhelming, it’s almost like runny jelly, or watered down gel. When I scoop the yellowish coloured gel out of its jar and apply onto my face, I can feel the aloe vera all over my face. If you have used fresh aloe vera on your skin before, you would’ve known that it dries on your skin with a tight layer. Immediately I was expecting that to happen but it didn’t! On the contrary, the mask felt like an oily serum on the skin, it’s silky to the touch and it is quickly absorbed into the skin. Within a few minutes my skin has soaked it up and I couldn’t even feel a layer of product on my face anymore.
When I wash it off. I was expecting that I need to really rub off that slimey gel layer off, but when I splash water on my face, it felt like the mask has been fully absorbed into my skin leaving no residue!
Overall
Every time I use this, I get amazed with how little of the product goes a long way and how hydrating it is with this interesting texture. It’s not a thick gel or cream, yet it gives plenty of hydration my skin needs. It is so watery light that you wouldn’t think it would be so moisturising on the skin. It almost feel like it will dry up like natural aloe vera would and leave this tight, crackly film on the skin.
The downside of this product is that it is super pricey, at about $170+ for a jar of hydrating mask, I just feel a little hard to bring myself to fork out this kind of money for a hydrating mask. I would prefer to spend this amount on a serum?
