Where I got it
For 2021, I tried to set myself a new goal that is to reduce my spending on skincare and makeup because I clearly have more than enough for at least 5 years… However, on the 10th day of the first month, I caved and bought the limited edition Chanel Blush and Highlighter Duo for $120. I saw this just after the New Years in Farmers and quickly swatched the colours and I couldn’t take my mind off it. A couple of days later, I went back to the Chanel counter at Farmers and purchased it. If it was a single blush or single highlighter, I wouldn’t have bought it, but since it contains a blush and a highlighter in a single compact, I thought it was a better “deal” if you know what I mean.
Limited edition products do have special codes – this one is 151.560 and the Illuminating Blush Powder I reviewed previously was 151.550.
What I got
This is the Limited Edition Chanel Fleurs De Printemps Blush and Highlighter Duo. This is a part of the January 2021 launch along with 2 new Rouge Allure Laque, 2 Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme, 3 Nail Polish shades, a Le Volume De Chanel mascara, 2 Eyeshadow quads in 358 Golden Meadow and 372 Bouquet Ambre and finally 2 Ombre Premiere Laque (liquid eyeshadows). Chanel also launched 8 new matte shades of the limited edition Rouge Allure Velvet Le Lion. That is all the new launches from Chanel so far in January as I can see in New Zealand.
The exclusive creation FLEURS DE PRINTEMPS is the flagship product in the SPRING-SUMMER 2021 collection and is embossed with swirling flower petals. A highlighting powder duo with a luminous coral blush on one side and a satiny rosy peach highlighter on the other. Beneath a sensual and luxurious veil of sparkling shine, CHANEL reveals a joyous, care-free woman.
How I find it
This blush and highlighter duo comes in the same black card box, but with a pink section on the top. From the velvet pouch and the lacquer compact to the round brush and inside mirror, it looks exactly the same as all usual limited-edition Chanel highlighters/luminizers. The pan inside is split into two parts – two semi-circles side by side. Left is a rosy peachy highlighter and the right is a deeper coral blush with a satin finish.
Overall
Both the blush and the highlighter are really pretty and the complement each other very very well. The highlighter certainly adds a pinky colour on the skin so if you are using a different toned blush, it might not be the ideal shade to add to the cheekbone area. I compared this palette to the Les Chaînes De Chanel Illuminating Blush Powder and this is definitely peachy pink. The Illuminating Blush Powder is deeper intense pink with a slight metallic sheen.
I also love wearing both of these shades on my eyes and they work so beautiful on my eyes too – it’s effortless and it makes my blush. If you are tossing between this and the Les Chaînes De Chanel Illuminating Blush Powder, I would recommend this one instead. Let me know your thoughts!
