Where I got it
I finally decided to pick this up at Sephora after putting this in my cart for numerous times. I don’t know why exactly I wanted to try it, nor did I know why I didn’t just go ahead and purchase it. Either way, I picked this up at the new Sylvia Park Sephora while they were having their Beauty Pass Sale. I am on their black tier so I had 20% off site-wide with no minimum purchase. This overnight mask is RRP$78 and after 20% off it is $62.40. This is also available at Hikoco.co.nz for $78 as well.
What I got

How I find it
As a sleeping mask, you are supposed to use this as the last step in your skincare routine. I have been using this on my non-tretioin nights, twice a week to start with. After cleansing and hydrating mist, I use my usual serum and I skip a moisturiser because this cream mask is moisturising enough for my combination skin. It has a creamy texture with a slight fragrance, not overwhelming and not ginseng-scented. It goes on smoothly on the skin and I don’t use too much to avoid it not sinking in. I usually do my night routine way before I go to bed so I leave enough time fo the mask to sink in before I put my face on the pillow.
The instructions did recommend to wash it off with water only, and not a cleanser for maximum results. In the morning, my skin feels soft and supple. Not dehydrated or oily, super comfortable. There are no stains on my pillowcase or greasy residue so that’s great. When rinsing my face in the morning, I couldn’t feel there were any mask remanants on my skin that I had to rub off, so it literally felt like I put moisturiser on my face.
Overall
While I am really confused about sleeping masks, this one is actually quite nice on my skin. I simply don’t understand the difference between a sleeping mask and a nourishing moisturiser. You simply apply it as the last step of the night time skincare routine and just go to bed. At most, sleeping masks are even more nourishing or more potent than your usual nighttime moisturiser.
Anyway, this sleeping masks really does revitalise my skin, give me more energized and brighter skin in the morning. My skin honestly feels nourished and moisturised without that greasiness. I am very pleased that this is a rather large tube because I do like to use a generous amount. Definitely will continue using this and try more of Sulwhasoo products.
