Beauty Heroes Box – August 2021 – Ingredients Wellness

Where I got it

This is my 6th Beauty Heroes discovery box and I have been really loving all the new brands I have discovered along the way: Ayuna, Fitglow, Blissoma, Bluh Alchemy and Lilfox. All of them have been really exciting and refreshing to me, not to mention affordable as well. You don’t get bombarded with skincare products each month, only 2-3 products at the most.

As usual, Beauty Heroes charges your credit card on the 27th/28th day of the month prior and you will get a shipping notification on the first day of the month. That means you don’t get a sneak peek before you pay for the box, but as always, you can always stop your subscription each month, wait for the reveal of products and then go for the monthly subscription again. If you are interested in the products/brand, go ahead, if you are not ready for another box, just skip it. Easy.

Anyway, this box came down to NZD$112.15 and arrived on 12/8. Shipping has been unpredictable lately. Items from the UK takes much longer than from the US. My Mintd boxes takes around 3 weeks to arrive, but my recent CurrentBody LED mask and Beauty Heroes August box has already arrived within 2 weeks of order/confirmation of shipment.

What I got

For the month of August, we are discovering the brand Ingredients Wellness. It truly is what’s inside that counts. And this month’s discovery invites you to an inside look at 100% plant-based, organic ingredients in potent concentrations. Ingredients® didn’t just slap a label on their products and call them clean. They’ve done what no beauty brand has dared to do: they listed each ingredient with exact percentages on the front of the box, taking transparency to a whole new level. This month’s trio is a curated collection of Ingredients® best selling products. The daily skin regimen includes an addictively fragrant Plant Water Mist, a Face Serum in a unique jelly format, and a lightweight, soothing Body Oil with 98.67% organic oils. Step inside.

Plant Water Mist ($38 for 100ml). This proprietary blend of organic plant waters contains Rose, Neroli and Lavender Hydrosols to refresh, calm and deeply hydrate the skin. Created from steam distillation of fresh flowers sourced directly from the best producers around the world, these hydrosols are unadulterated and never contains chemicals, fillers or artificial fragrance. The mild, effective formula supports the skin microbiome and respects the skin’s natural pH level 5.5.

Ingredients: Rosa Damascena (rose) Flower Water*, Citrus aurantium (bitter orange) Flower Water*, Lavendula Angustifolia (lavender) Flower Water*, Lactobacillus ferment.

Face Serum ($48 for 40ml). This organic, restorative serum contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant nutrients that deeply hydrate and repair the skin. This daily essential contains Rose Hydrosol and Essential Oil to soothe, as well as powerful Calendula Extract to boost collagen production. Concentrated Aloe Extract hydrates the skin, while Vegetable Collagen and Tremella Mushrooms, a plant-based Hyaluronic Acid, improves skin density. The mild, effective formula supports the skin microbiome and respects the skin’s natural pH level 5.5.

Body Oil ($42 for 100ml). This lightweight, organic body oil helps to restore the skin’s elasticity and natural lipid barrier with nourishing, unrefined Golden Jojoba and Baobab Oils that are rich in omegas, vitamins and antioxidants. The proprietary blend of anti-inflammatory Brazilian Cobaiba Balsam Oil, soothing Madagascar Vanilla Extract, and Vitamin C-packed Orange and Lavender Essential Oils work to improve skin texture. The non-comedogenic, plant-based formula is fast absorbing, leaving your skin soft and supple.

How I find it

When I first opened the box of goodies, I went straight into trying this Plant Water Mist out. Follow me on IG to see me unbox other goodies (@kittiemui). I absolutely love the continuous spray and it truly is a mist, almost like a cloud. It smells absolutely divine of Neroli. If you don’t like Rose or Neroli scent, you are not going to love this. The mist is hydrating and so pleasant to use. You can easily use this throughout the day, and the only thing I worry about it how much I’m using this and how fast I’m going through the bottle!

Next, I was half expecting the Face Serum to be an oil serum for some reason, so when it pumps out to a semi-translucent serum with a lightweight texture. A little goes a long way and it feels really hydrating without burden. If you have combination or oily skin, this is perfect for you. If you have dry skin, you will most likely need something with more oomph and something to lock that hydration in.

Last product we have here is the Body Oil. The airless pump bottle is quite different to other body oils I have used. It does come with a cap, but it did leak a little inside the cap so I don’t think this packaging is the best. The pump mechanism makes it a little difficult to control how much product to dispense. It is strictly a body oil because it is quite weighted on the skin, but it is really nourishing and moisturising.

Overall

I was really pleasantly surprised how much I enjoy all three of these products. To be really blunt, I thought the products were a little boring at first. A hydrating facial mist, a simple face serum and a body oil. However, it is exactly how “simple” they are, they are really easy to incorporate into an existing routine and easy to use for all skin types. The ingredients are straight-forward and all-round beneficial for all skin types and concerns inmy opinion.

I have been using the Plant Water Mist when I do my skincare routine, when I feel like I need a bit of freshening up or just wanted to smell that lovely neroli scent. The Face Serum I have been incorporating that day and night in my skincare routine. Then I also have the Body Oil next to my bed and applying this before I go to bed. It envelopes my arms and legs overnight and my skin feels nice and smooth the morning after.

If I were to repurchase one item from them, it would have to be the Plant Water Mist. Such a pleasure to use and I absolutely love the continuous spray bottle.
