Rose Hermes Silky Blush Powder

Where I got it

I ordered this on the Hermes website directly ages ago (May!!) and I it was the only place you can purchase these at that time. Right now, these are available at Smith & Caugheys. They were RRP AUD$100 with free shipping worldwide. The exchange rate at that point meant the blush costed me NZD$112.54. You are able to select it as a gift where you can have a blank card for writing your own message, or type a message out and Hermes will print it out for you.

Within 20 minutes of ordering, I received an email from TNT shipping that my delivery has been sent off from Wooloomooloo Australia and the expected delivery date will be in around 3 days. I actually did receive it 5 days later and it came in a courier bag in a very sturdy cardboard box. Attached to the outside of the courier bag is a zip-lock bag with the invoice. Inside the bag and outside of the box, there is a sturdy card folio with my invoice, returns paperwork and a white envelope with a blank gift card as well as a printed gift card with a message I wrote to myself “Treat yourself”.  Inside the box, you see the blush being well-secured with an elastic strap along with a little orange paper bag with the Bolduc ribbon, and behind all that is the little Hermes shopping bag with a short Buldoc ribbon inside. Inside the little  is 4 little samples of their Satin and Matte Lipsticks.

What I got

This is the Rose Hermes Silky Blush Powder in 32 Rose PommetteeBlush with a semi-matte finish, embossed with texture resembling silk twill. A fine, silky, long-lasting powder for a luminous, radiant complexion. At once ethereal and compact, its ultra-light, pigmented texture allows colour intensity to be tailored as desired, softened or asserted, from the most natural to the most sophisticated finish. This long-lasting powder clings to the skin with the first touch. Rose Hermès Silky Blush can be refilled by simply removing and replacing its powder pan. Refills are sold separately. With its round case and off-centre mirror, this disc of white and gold light designed by Pierre Hardy is distinctive for its lightness, as it was conceived for use on the go. Slipped inside its orange box, this is a pure Hermès object.

How I find it

Unfortunately, I left this way too late to review thie blush. I literally did not want to separate the blush compact from it’s beautiful box, hence I have not been using this a lot. I love the shade and the formula, it is really finely milled and smooth on the skin. The shade is easy to wear and matches my skin tone very well without looking obnoxious. I have been reaching for this a lot before the lockdown and ever since lockdown, I hardly put on full makeup. At the most, I am using a sheer coverage foundation and some brows. If I am going out, I will be wearing a mask anyway.

Overall

This is a really high quality blush powder and I know this will last me a very very long time. I think it is not that special and probably not worth that much money for a single blush shade IMO. It is mostly in the branding I would say. I would reach for this but I also love something from Natasha Denona, Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier, so much more that would be just as good and fraction of the price.

Hermes has come out with a new golden highligher and the price looked pretty outrageous to me, so I would not be getting that at all. Also the highlighter is like a straight gold colour, which is not something I want as a highlighter. It looks great in the pan and everything, but not a shade that I would use on my face on a daily basis. What do you guys think?
