Where I got it
Now if you go back to my previous post on the Rouge Dior Couture Deluxe Collection, you would have see why I had to order these in via a personal shopper based in the US. Long story short, Auckland is currently in lockdown when Dior launched the Holiday collection and it is selling out quick overseas and I got serious FOMO so I used a personal shopper service to purchase some of these holiday limited-editions. I had to pay premium prices for these so I will try to refrain from checking the prices of these when they become available in New Zealand. However, I am very confident to say that this particular lipstick and clutch set will sell out fast because it is simply gorgeous and very much a collector’s item. At least I know the Asian-community will snap it up instantly.
Initially, I ordered the Rouge Dior Couture Deluxe Collection with the 4-lipstick because I really want the box that the lipstick comes in and I didn’t want to pay the premium for this clutch set as well (I would have to pay personal shopper fees on top of the price of the item). However, my PS was kind enough to offer to buy the clutch for me without paying extra fees for her and no need to add extra for shipping! I could not resist and I decided to go for it!! This set is actually more value for money than the Rouge Dior Deluxe Couture Collection because the clutch set is only $6 more than the Couture Collection box and contains the same amount of lipsticks.
So this set is USD$270 including tax. This comes down to NZD$424 after conversion rates. She ordered the Rouge Dior set for me on the Dior website and purchased this Minaudiere set from a Dior counter somewhere in Vegas. So I had to wait for everything to reach her before she can send everything to me.
I was notified that she has sent everything via express mail on 6/11, and it finally arrived on 23/11! I am SO EXCITED!
I have purchased a couple of items via my PS and she was so generous and gave me some extra items as well as a holiday card! I have done an unboxing of this haul which you might want to check out below. Also I have reviewed the Rouge Dior Deluxe Couture Collection, link here!

What I got
This is the Rouge Dior Minaudiere Lip & Clutch Set. This is part of the Dior 2021 Holiday collection along with a bunch of other limited edition products. Read my other post on the 2021 Holiday collection because I bought an eyeshadow quint and a rouge blush from the collection as well via Selfridges.
To celebrate the holiday season, Dior unveils a new exclusive creation: the Rouge Dior “Minaudiere”, a testament to the savoir-faire of the Dior ateliers and a tribute to the iconic address at 30 Avenue Montaigne, which has been the beating heart of the House from the very beginning. Timeless and travel-friendly thanks to its practical chain strap, the Minaudiere features a removable case and lipstick holder. It can be carried as a clutch, over the shoulder or around the neck for a modern, sophisticated look. This limited-edition version of the iconic Rouge Dior lipstick comes in 4 shades with couture finishes that combine long wear, floral lip care, and a unique sensorial experience.
4 exclusive Rouge Dior shades for the holidays: 466 Pink Rose, a natural pearly pink with a satin finish. 858 Red Pansy, a matte red. 862 Winter Poppy, a velvet red with a cool shimmer. 873 Sparkling Peony, a bold metallic burgundy
How I find it
The holiday limited edition packaging is in sleek white box with gold lettering. The box is sealed with plastic wrap as well. The box is a slide-open box to reveal the beautiful gold clutch and a velvet pouch. There is a gold chain inside the pouch to turn the clutch into a crossbody/shoulder mini bag.
There is a full sized lipstick in the round tube along with 3 lipstick refills inside the case. The insert inside the case can be easily removed without any glue or tape to reveal a plastic interior for you to put in cards and small little items. Let’s go through the lipsticks first shall we?
There are 4 lipsticks in total. The lipstick in the round tube is the full sized bullet and that is shade 999 in a limited edition embossing on the lipstick itself. That one I will be keep intact and in perfect condition because it is so stunning and I already have at least 2 999 lipsticks already. The other 3 are refill sizes but you can also use them as they are without any problems. Shade 858 Red Pansy is a beautiful rich red colour, has a matte finish, but when you first apply it, it looks really creamy. The deep red is classic for a night out and great for festive events. 466 Pink Rose is a gorgeous light, rosy pink with a satin finish. Very easy to pull off even with my pigmented lips, the creamy texture makes this really comfortable to wear. Definitely great for a festive day-time look. Lastly, 873 Sparkling Peony is a special one, it is a red/fuchsia with a metallic finish. It is described as burgundy, but I think it is more fuchsia than burgundy. It has a bright pink tone to it and it is great for party and if you are in for a bit of fun.
Let’s have a look at the clutch and the lipstick holder. It is a combination of metal on the outside and plastic in the interior. The reflective gold outer casing has the beautiful 30 Avenue Montaigne facade, which is the Dior flagship store in Paris. The tubular lipstick holder is detachable and you can link the chain to just the lipstick case. You simply slide the lipstick case down while holding the rectangular case, and it will slide out. There is the CD logo on either side where you clip on the chain.
The chain is in amazing quality and it feels weighted as well. Beautiful gold chain that you can use on other smaller bags or clutches as well. The inside of the case can easily fit my cards in (I usually have about 2-3 when I go out for an event or dinner which is when I would use this clutch), then my car key fob, maybe a little sample bottle of perfume and a small tube of tube of hand cream and a little vial of single-use eye drops. Obviously it won’t fit my iphone, which I will need to carry in my hands. That’s pretty much all I need to take out.
Overall
I am extremely happy with this clutch! It has met all my expectations and more. The embossing of the case is stunning and the shiny gold outlook of this clutch is so festive and eye-catching. I am very impressed with Dior’s holiday offerings this year. The holiday boxes, packaging, the advent calendar was done pretty well, all the packaging of the makeup collection is beautiful. I love how luxury brands make items that can be reused/repurposed instead of throw out afterwards. Even though this is very hard to get in New Zealand, I am very pleased that I spent the extra money to get this from the US along with all the little goodies my personal shopper gave me. Have you seen the Rouge Dior Deluxe Couture Collection I got as well? That one is not a holiday collection, but the velvet case is stunning as well and you can turn that into a beautiful home décor.
