Samorga bag organiser – YSL Uptown clutch and Chloe Medium Woody Tote Bag

Where I got it

After a recent post from Charis of LVLoveCC on Youtube, she was giving away a YSL Uptown clutch along with a Samorga bag organiser that can covert a clutch into a shoulder/crossbody bag. I already own a YSL uptown clutch and I have only used it once because it really was a clutch that I had to hold in my hand which limits the occasions I would use it. It wasn’t the first time I saw Samorga from her channel and from other luxury Youtuber’s channels. I decided to have a good look. I picked up the bag organiser for the YSL clutch as well as for my new Chloe Medium Woody Tote Bag. I used a discount code and got 23% off, but at the same time, the shipping to New Zealand was USD$36. So the total order was USD$71 with a $16.33 discount, but add on $36 shipping. The total came to USD$90.67. Shipping also took about 3 weeks after I ordered it from South Korea.

What I got

I ordered the Samorga bag organiser for the YSL Uptown Clutch in 1.2mm, colour skin ($24), and also a bag organiser for the Chloe Medium Woody Tote Bag (felt version) in dune ($46). For the uptown clutch organiser, I added two loops as an add-on (1.2mm skin colour) for $0.50 each. For a slim clutch like the uptown, 1.2mm is the only option, but with styles and brands, there are 2mm options available if you want a more structured look for an otherwise less structured bag. I actually made a mistake in my order, but I will talk about it more below.

How I find it

I was really excited about the new bag organisers as I was waiting for the one for my woody tote bag to come before using it for the first time. I tried the clutch bag organiser first and it fit like a glove and I was able to fit my essential items inside as well – like a couple of cards, my key fob, a lipstick and my phone. That’s basically all I need to bring with me if I am going out wearing a clutch. I happen to have a nice looking gold chain from my Dior gold clutch bag so I used it on this clutch and it looked perfect because it also had gold hardware. Even if I don’t use a chain and turn it into a shoulder/crossbody bag, the organiser was good to use because it had pockets and it didn’t take up much space. The loops are concealed and you literally cannot see it. Love it heaps!

But here comes my blunder. Right after putting through my order, I noticed that it says “felt version only” and I immediately thought “uh-oh”, but I checked the size of the bag and everything and it didn’t look like there was any difference between it, but oh boy was I wrong! The felt version was obviously slightly bigger than the canvas version and the organiser was a little warped and squashed once it is inside the bag. The woody tote is canvas so there is a little bit of flexibility so it doesn’t look weird on the outside. The colour is perfect and I love how it has pockets. I should have ordered the normal one which is “not for felt version”.

You can’t really tell that the organiser is too big from the outside. In the photos below, I have the organiser in, but it just opens up the top of the bag even more.

Anyway, I can’t return it anymore because their website states all sales are final. And I also saw that any changes to the model or colours can be done within 24 hours of the order being placed. Sigh. Oh well, I should be able to make it work, but it was just a shame.

Overall

I really like the bag organiser for the clutch bag even though it did take up some space. It wasn’t as thick as I thought it would be and it will protect the internal lining as well. I have dedicated one of the pockets for cards and the other for small items like some ibuprofen/antihistamine pills. I would say that you will need to be mindful of the clasp of the chain you want to use, that it should not be too bulky otherwise it will show up and kind of bulge out. Also, the chain should be slim and not chunky so that it doesn’t damage the flap where it folds down. Otherwise, make sure your chunky chain doesn’t start until maybe a few cms from the clasp if you know what I mean.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, the only thing is that you can’t return the items if you change your mind which is fair enough. The colour chart available for you to view is also not the best quality. Unless you check out their IG account or know what colour works for your bag already, it is quite hard to gauge what the colour looks like from the small thumbnail pictures. However, I am very impressed with all the bag styles they have and I don’t think you can find many other online stores that do this large range of styles.
