Where I got it
After the 3-month long lockdown, I was finally able to reach out to the Dior beauty boutique at Commercial bay. Some of us are out and about and some of us are still working from home and looking after young ones at home, therefore I decided to call the Dior boutique to order what I wanted.
Ever since I got a bottle of the Rose Kabuki perfume and some other body items from Dior earlier this year, I fell in love with Lucky. I decided to order a small bottle of Lucky and Tracy (the Dior SA) told me they have launched a body lotion in the Lucky fragrance (they used to only have the body cream in a jar container), I decided to get one as well. Dior’s Privee Collection perfume and body products as well as their candles are only available at the Dior beauty boutique in Commercial Bay. You won’t be able to find these at department stores. Have a look at my review of the Rose Kabuki perfume here, and the hand and body wash + body cream review here if you are interested!
What I got
I picked up a 40ml bottle of the Christian Dior Privee Collection Eau de Parfum in Lucky, and a 250ml bottle of the Hand and body lotion also in Lucky. The Lucky hand and body lotion hydrates enhances and perfumes the skin with the delicate notes of its namesake fragrance. Formulated with 90%* natural-origin ingredients, Lucky hydrating body lotion reveals a light and fresh texture that quickly penetrates the skin to bring it an instant feeling of comfort. Apply this fluid texture that transcribes the floral notes of lily of the valley and white flowers of Lucky, the good luck fragrance from La Collection Privée Christian Dior, to your skin every day.
How I find it
To start off, I am really impressed with the packaging of the Dior holiday gift box! It has the same design as the Dior beauty box that I already have, but the white box at the centre with the word Christian Dior Paris is exclusive to perfume/candle purchases. I saw in a video on Youtube that Dior has different kinds of gift boxes for different types of purchases – handbags and SLGs have a completely different styles of boxes and bags (white and gold), the fragrance/candle purchases have this style which is the same as the beauty/skincare purchases but just a different box style. This one has an open flap on the top, but the other one has a separate lid.
Upon opening the box, I see the same design on a little drawstring cotton bag. It is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Inside, the SA gave me a whole heap of perfume samples as well as skincare samples! I asked if she was able to give me some samples of perfumes that would suit my preference – light floral and/or something sweet. I also asked for Gris Dior because that is something that I also wanted to try. I definitely recommend ordering from the store. Tracy, who served me, was really helpful and polite.
The samples I receiver were the La Colle Noire – spicy portrait of a May Rose with a strong character (I already have a sample of this, but it is slightly too spicy and powerful for me), Rose Kabuki – pricked with a green note to portray the rose from stem to flower (I have a bottle of this perfume already and it is a very nice light floral scent), Holy Peony – a floral portrait of the peony, which plays on its seductive fullness and botanical freshness (a light, feminine floral scent which I also really enjoy), Sakura – A fragrance that celebrates the scent of the Japanese Cherry Blossom that paints the landscape a pale, delicate pink with the arrival of spring (a youthful and playful floral that is great for summer), and Gris Dior – a fragrance that unfurls with citrus top notes enveloped in a floral accord and set against a backdrop of ambery moss (not my type of scent and this is the type of fragrance that would give me a headache).
She also gave me some Capture Totale cleanser samples and the Super Potent Serum samples. In a separate little white bag, she gave me 2 pots of the Lucky Body lotion sample so I can try it before I open the full-size bottle. So thoughtful!
Lucky smells fresh and light. It is a light floral fragrance that is special and unique. I absolutely love this fragrance and it has good lasting power as well. It fades slightly during the day but still retains that same freshness. The pale green colour is also very pleasing to look at in the bottle. I prefer the smaller bottle because it is obviously less expensive, and it’s perfect for the frequency that I use perfume and I only ever use one spritz and that’s it. The Rose Kabuki that I have already is still looking brand new and I have used it maybe 10 times already. After the lockdown, I will definitely use these a lot more and I am contemplating on when the get my next fragrance (most likely Jasmine Des Anges or Holy Peony) and when I do, I will ask for a sample of the Eden Roc and Thé Cachemire because the Eden Roc is a woody floral fragrance and if it is light enough, that would be something I might enjoy as well.
Let’s look at the hand and body lotion next. The large bottle of these body wash and body lotion products makes these a lot better bang for your buck because the fragrance in these lotions are intense, and they also moisturise the skin as well! I bought my first jar of body cream in my first purchase of their perfume/body products and that is a heavier, thicker body cream which is a little too much for summertime. I was surprised when Tracy mentioned that they have a body lotion in the Lucky fragrance. Now I am quite new to Dior fragrance body care products, but I have not seen this the last time I was in store, and even with body wash and body cream products, they were not available in every fragrance they have. I’m also not sure if the body lotion is a new launch as well, but I am happy that I have one at home right now.
I am mostly going to use this on my upper body when I don’t feel like putting on perfume. Otherwise, using this at night time so I can also enjoy the lovely scent. But hubby is really sensitive to scent, so I might use this sparingly when he is around.
Overall
So far, I have used this perfume on lunch dates with family, my husband, going to church. Also, the body lotion at home after a shower at night and my husband does not find it aggressive and does not trigger his nose sensitivity at all. He hasn’t really commented on it either. I personally love this scent so so much. It is so pleasant and does not sting my nose. I would love to have this scent in a candle if it does come in candles. I am confident I will add more perfumes from the Dior Privee Collection because they are so unique and of high quality.
