Where I got it
I was sent this as PR from Juno&Co. You can purchase these products on their website – Junoco.com. The Clean 10 Cleansing Balm is $22 and the Cleansing Cookie is $12. This is not my first product from Juno&Co as I have purchased their microfibre makeup sponge before and it was such an interesting product to use for makeup application. It gives a nice diffused look for the foundation, but I generally prefer a foundation brush to apply my foundation so it doesn’t get used a lot.
What I got
I was sent the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm (85g) and the Cleansing Cookie in baby blue (also in white).
Clean 10 Cleansing Balm is a unique oil-based cleanser curated for all skin types to effortlessly dissolve makeup. It’s developed to remove even waterproof makeup and perform multiple tasks. Our cleansing balm only has 10 ingredients but heavily depends of our star ingredient, Japanese Barley Magic. The particular ingredient is a source of vitamins and antioxidants in order to help regulate the skin’s melanin production. This includes brightening the skin’s complexion and reducing dark spots. The implemented technology deeply cleanses skin without stripping natural oils. 100% free of microplastics and packaging is 100% recyclable.
Ingredients: Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glycerly Triisostearate, Synthetic Wax, Polysorbate 85, Fermented Japanese Pearl Barley, <1% Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) peel oil, Vitamin E, Water, Butylene Glycol.
Cleansing Cookie is a reusable cleansing pad that removes even the most stubborn waterproof makeup for a fresh, clean face. Say goodbye to itchy, irritating makeup wipes that always leave traces of makeup behind. Save space, create less waste, and most importantly, tare care of your face with our sustainable makeup remover! Pair with our Clean 10 Cleansing Balm for the ultimate cleanse. Material: cotton.
How I find it
The Clean 10 Cleansing Balm comes with a little plastic spatula which I always use to pick up product. The balm is not too hard and not too soft. The picture below is usually how much product I use each time. I massage the balm between my palms first to melt it down. The balm melts beautifully without any hard bits and remains emollient. The balm remains very emollient when I massage my face, this would be so soothing for dry skin types. Emulsify with a little bit of water, and then rinse off thoroughly.
The Cleansing Cookie is actually a great partner to use with the cleansing balm or with my 2nd cleanser. I can use this to help remove the balm cleanser, but in doing that, I risk getting the cookie dirty from the makeup. Therefore I prefer using this to remove my second cleanser. So after rinsing off the cleansing balm, I use a foaming cleanser, then I dampen the cleansing cookie and then wring it slightly and wipe the cleanser off. It also does a little bit of exfoliation on my skin. I rinse the cookie and repeat the steps and then I rinse my face under running water. My skin feels clean and free of any makeup.
Overall
Overall, I think this cleansing balm is a straight-up, no frills and no fuss cleansing balm. It is good value for money for what it is. It does the job right and it is so easy to use. It melts wonderfully and melts down my makeup effortlessly. However, I found that even though Ethylhexyl Palmitate is a good emollient to help soften and smooth skin, it is also comedogenic if you are prone to congestion. I am personally prone to congestion so I make sure I use a good 2nd cleanse cleanser to remove any undetectable left-over cleanser. The cookie helps with removing all of the residue as well. Since this is a cleansing balm that doesn’t stay on my skin for a long time, the comedogenic factor isn’t that worrying to me.
Something I would like to try from Juno & Co next would definitely be their Clarifying Cleansing Powder, because I think would be great to use after this cleansing balm to thoroughly remove any residue.
