Where I got it
I ordered this on the Necessaire website using a discount code from Rachel Parcell (RACH10) for 10% off. You should be able to easily find discount codes for this brand easily. I have seen this brand from fellow skincare lover accounts that I follow on IG. Mecca NZ used to stock their products, but they have now stopped stocking them for some reason. Anyway, Necessaire is a brand focusing on body and hair products. Their ethos is providing clean and effective skincare products that are ethically made. Their formulations are suitable for all skin types, therefore they do not formulate to specific skin types. Their products are not expensive, ranging from USD$15 to $45. They also offer sets and subscription services at a discounted rate.
Unfortunately, they only ship within the US, Canada, UK and Australia. They do not ship to New Zealand! So I decided to use YouShop, a freight-forwarding company by NZ Post. A few years back I used to use this service quite often when online stores do not ship directly to NZ. So I ordered The Deodorant Gel ($15), a Body Ritual set ($80) and I received The Repair Duo as a President’s Day Weekend gift offer (valued at $35). The total came to USD$85.50 after the 10% discount and free shipping. Once the parcel was delivered to the YouShop warehouse in the US, YouShop alerted me via email to pay for shipping to NZ. I input the value of the products as well as provided a copy of the invoice and YouShop told me the fees will be a total of $96.04!! Goodness me! The amount I paid for the products was just a fraction more than the shipping! OK, so I paid for this on the 3rd of March, and I have been waiting for it to arrive.
*UPDATE* I was told that Sokoglam also stocks Necessaire products and do ship to New Zealand and a much lower shipping cost. However, they do not stock all products in all the scents, so if your preferred scent is not available, you have to go elsewhere.
I made a reel on IG on these products as well as the textures (linked at the bottom of this post). If you are on IG, please follow and give me some love 🙂

How I find it
Let’s start with the order in which I would use these products. Naturally, I would use the Body Wash first to cleanse. I chose Eucalyptus and I was really satisfied with my choice because I love the scent. Comes in a frosted plastic bottle with a sage green coloured cap on the top. This colour is different if you chose a different scent. There is a foil seal at the top and when you peel it off, it reveals a hole where it opens up when you twist the cap as if to twist the cap open. Then you pour the body wash out from the top hole. The body wash is quite fluid and a little goes a long way. I wouldn’t say it lathered a lot, but you can feel the body wash on the skin moving around. I would think if you used a puff, it would lather a lot more. The scent is really nice and not overwhelming at all. It doesn’t really linger on the skin so it won’t interfere your body lotion if you choose to use a scented one.
Next, I use the Body Exfoliator once or twice a week whenever I feel like my skin needed a bit of scrubbing. The exfoliator has an almost clear gel base with the bamboo charcoal bits to scrub the skin. You don’t need to use a large amount of product as the body exfoliator does spread very well even on wet skin. The granules in this exfoliator is quite gentle. The exfoliator lathers up for a bit and black charcoal bits will melt and disappear as you massage. Rinses off easily and leaves no residue. Skin feels soft and smooth despite the scrub not feeling abrasive.
After cleansing and exfoliation, I would use the Body Serum. The body serum is a hyaluronic acid treatment for the body to hydrate the skin. It has a gel-cream texture from the airless pump. I use about 2 pumps for one leg (calves and thighs), 2 pumps will spread on both my arms and just a few more for the torso and the rest of the body. The serum feels silky and smooth on the skin and I was really surprised at how quick it was absorbed and my skin felt silky smooth. I can feel that there is a thin layer of protection on my skin, but it is not sticky or tacky at all. My skin actually felt really comfortable even without anything on top. However, it does remind me of a light aloe vera gel on my skin. When I wash my hands, I could feel that slippery feeling that had to be washed off.
Skin feels hydrated, which is great to use during the day or on days that is humid. However, if the weather is dry, I would apply a body lotion over the top. If you love something light and quick absorbing and soft to the touch, you would love this. Absolutely fragrance free, not even a chemical scent from the ingredients.
When my skin feels like it needs something enveloping or moisturising, I would go for the Body Oil after the body serum. Usually I would need something more during winter nights when it is quite dry. The body oil is also fragrance-free and quite fluid as well. It is not a thick and greasy body oil…
The Body Lotion is a good ol’ moisturising lotion that just does it’s job. It feels smooth on the skin and provides instant moisture to the skin. It is absorbed relatively quick, but not as quick as the serum. I can put on skinny jeans within a minute of this body lotion. Between the body oil and this body lotion, I would prefer this during the day and when the weather is warmer and lese dry. The body oil during the night and when the weather is dry. Fragrance-free means it will no interfere with my perfume.
I actually do not use deodorant or antiperspirant at all, not even when I work out because I simply do no have much for a odour problem, and I don’t work out on a daily basis anyway. However, when I was Rachel Parcell using the Deodorant Gel, I was a little interested (it was also only $15). I have been working out at home on my Fitness+ app through my apple watch so I do sweat a little bit. But generally, my sweat doesn’t offend. However, I decided to try this out right away on the day I got it and worked out. This is not an antiperspirant, so it’s not going to stop the sweat from coming through, but it neutralises the odour and replaces it with the eucalyptus scent. I can smell it lightly when I turn my heads towards my pits and it smells great! The gel comes in a rollerball dispenser and the gel is not sticky as well. It doesn’t dry down immediately, but even when it is still slightly wet, it is not tacky or uncomfortable. Then it just dries down to a comfortable finish without any residue or powdery finish.
Overall
I am overall very satisfied with my order, despite the hefty postage fees I had to pay for YouShop to ship to New Zealand. For the price these products are, they are actually pretty good. I particularly love the Body Serum and the Deodorant Gel because the serum is lightweight and something that I could layer under the Body Lotion. The Body Wash is nice, nothing special except for the scent. The Body Exfoliator is also one that I really enjoy. I love body scrubs and before this one, I was using one from Aesop which has a geranium scent and it was slightly more abrasive.
I am so happy to have tried the range. I think I might repurchase the body exfoliating and serum via some other online retailer if they stock them because they were really enjoyable.
