Where I got it
On the 1st of March, I received a phone call from Julia, my Chanel SA. She told me that the Le Blanc makeup collection has arrived this week (possibly the day before, but she was so busy, she did not have time to let me know at first instance). I understand that I am not on their VVIP list so I’m probably further down the list of people to contact when new collection comes in. However, she did also say that the collection is so new and fresh, they don’t even have testers out yet and things are flying off the shelves. She did mention to me that only some of the shades are available at the moment, but I’m not sure if the entire range will arrive in due course.
The items that were available for me to purchase were: the Les 4 Ombre 384 eyeshadow quad, Rouge Allure Ink (only 234 available, 232 not yet available), Rouge Coco Flash (all 3 shades available 168. 170, 172), nail polish (only 919 and 923 available, 921 not yet available). None of the Stylo Lumiere Regarde were available, neither do they have the Le Liner De Chanel (liquid eyeliner, shade 532) and the Rêve de Camellia highlighter was also sold out, but new stock was coming in soon. I told Julia I wanted the highlighter, so I asked her to let me know when it comes in. 2 weeks later and they had a small restock (6), and Julia managed to snatch one up for me and then it sold out again! Then that came in a just the right time for another GWP event for a black makeup pouch and a selection of T2 teas.

What I got
I decided to pick up the Rêve de Camelia Illuminating Powder – Beige Rosé ($139), the Les 4 Ombre eyeshadow quad 384 Imaginaire ($127), Rouge Coco Flash ($66) in shade 170 Romance and the Rouge Allure Ink in shade 232 Poesie. I have not picked up any of the nail polish or the illumination pens because they did not really appeal to me.
Rêve de Camelia Illuminating Powder – Beige Rosé (10g). A limited-edition illuminating powder embossed with the camellia, Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite flower, created for the 2022 Makeup Collection, RÊVE DE CHANEL. Inspired by Mademoiselle’s dreamlike and poetic world, this multi-dimensional highlighter with its mini kabuki applicator brush comes in a shimmery, pinkish beige hue that gives the face a natural, pearlescent glow. Airy and delicate, it lightens shadows, illuminates the face and redefines facial contours.
Les 4 Ombres Multi-effect Quadra Eyeshadow 384 Imaginaire (2.8g total weight). A palette of four eyeshadows that features the most advanced innovation to enhance creativity. Its optimised formula unites a soft texture and an easy application to achieve maximum colour that is consistent and luminous. The shades come in a variety of effects: matte, satiny, iridescent or metallic. A practical and portable black lacquered case with a large mirror.
Rouge Coco Flash (170 Romance) (3g) and Rouge Allure Ink (232 Poesie) (6ml). Ranging from dusty orange and reddish brown, subtle lip colours leave lips looking luminous and offer a matte or satin finish. Rouge Coco Flash provides colour, shine and intensity in a flash. Comes in 168 Halo, which is a translucent pale lavender colour, 170 Romance which is a beautiful sheer red, and 172 Flanerie which is a brownish beige colour. Rouge Allure Ink is a matte liquid lipstick. Comes in 232 Poesie which is a light coral pink colour, and 234 Evocation appears to be a true red.
How I find it
After watching a number of YouTube videos and images on IG on the highlighter powder, I got really excited about get the item in my hands, but at the same time I kind of know that I have something similar already and I might not eventually get to use this. I have not been a person to collect limited edition makeup, but I have started doing this earlier this year with all the new holiday edition products from Dior and Chanel. These products are beautiful and if you use it, it really does ruin the overall look of it. I have tried the tester of the Reve de Camelia highlighting powder at my local Farmers and it does look beautiful (see below). It is a champagne coloured highlighter with a satin finish, much like the famous Champagne Pop be Becca cosmetics years ago. The sheen is very finely milled with no shimmer or glitter.
I also swatched both Rouge Allure Ink, as you can see both colours are quite different and also very pigmented. I already have a couple of shades in this formula and I love it. It is a comfortable matte and highly pigmented. It is not a budge-proof finish, so it does rub off, but the general colour remains on the lips. 232 Poesie looks beautiful on the lips, even on my pigmented lips – it is not too pale that will wash me out or look patchy.
At my local Farmers, the Chanel display is show-casing all the new collection, except for the new colours in the Rouge Coco Flash. For some reason, they have placed some existing shades in the display, so I wasn’t able to swatch the colours in this collection. However, I have bought shade 170 Romance and I have a hand swatch and lip try-on to show. Again, the Rouge Coco Flash is not a new formula and it is my favourite lipstick formula from Chanel. It has shine, colour and moisture. The wash of colour is not too sheer and not too pigmented. 170 Romance is beautiful red shade.
Lastly the Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow quad in 384 Imaginaire is my first eyeshadow quad from Chanel and I am very happy with this colour story. I probably have these colours already, but I am glad my first Chanel quad are safe colours that are easy to wear and totally my kind of colours. That means I would reach for these many times for work, for the weekend, etc. The 4 colours are based on a soft beige-pink colourway.
Overall
I am very happy with this collection, I think this is my second Le Blanc collection purchase. From what I have heard, Chanel does these Le Blanc collections every year and last year (2021) was inspired by Japanese Akoya Pearls. The Le Blanc collection in generally designed for the Asian market. This collection (2022) seems to be the same – the colours are quite light fair-skin friendly. The collection creates an ethereal look that is soft and gentle. The highlighter is soft and gentle, the eyeshadow palette is also easy to wear and pinky soft. The lipsticks are also very yellow skin-tone friendly for that bright-skin contrast. It’s about bringing all that light and glow to the skin.
I really enjoyed the collection, even though I only got a few items, the lip products and eyeshadow are just very enjoyable. The pigmentation, the colours and the textures are really up my alley. Both the Coco Flash and the Rouge Allure Ink are my favourite Chanel lipstick formulas. If you are looking for a pigmented and super creamy eyeshadow texture, these Chanel palettes are probably not something that would wow you. They are soft and creamy, but soft pigmentation. Oh, I love it!
Oh, last but not least, let’s talk about the gift with purchase and samples I got this time round. I asked for skincare samples and Julia gave me a good selection this time. My sister recently ordered as well (bigger order than mine), but she did not get as much samples. However, it was her first time ordering from Chanel over the phone with Julia. Therefore I can tell that with Chanel beauty SAs, you really do need to build up that relationship and possible purchase more often so they would offer you more samples, specific samples (if available) and some special gifts. I think it is a fair thing to say, luxury beauty boutiques are pretty much all like that. If you are a loyal customer, they are open to giving more freebies to you to entice you to purchase more from them.
As for the GWP, it is the little faux leather zipped pouch with the text Chanel Parfums again (got my first one here). I already have this one and the white one which is the Chanel beauty. There are no products in the pouch, but it makes a really nice little cosmetics pouch for travel, in the car, at work, etc. GWP events are also offered to people who are in contact with the SAs and not promoted in-stores.
