Where I got it
Last month, I was shopping with my sister and she showed me this product by Kevyn Aucoin in Mecca and I thought it was really interesting. I did not purchase it on the spot because I wanted to look at more reviews and do my own research on it first. When Mecca emailed us about a Loop Bonus, I decided to go for it and get one tube to see how it works for me. The Glass Glow Skin was $45 and it was free shipping with a little sample.

What I got
This is the Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Skin* in Cosmic Flame. A universal and unique gloss highlighter for the face and body that creates youthful-looking, well-hydrated skin with a glassy complexion. The multi-purpose glow gel can be used on the face and body, leaving skin appearing clear, radiant, and seemingly transparent. Use it alone for a fresh look, or add it to your existing routine for an added glass effect. Comes in 6 shades.

How I find it
When my sister showed me this product, my initial thoughts were “Do I need glossy skin? How do I use this product in my makeup routine?” I quickly had a look online to see how other people are using it and whether I have anything like this in my stock. Summer is approaching and I do love a good dewy skin look during my off days and even when I’m with full makeup. I think my choice of shade isn’t something that I would wear on a daily basis, but it is the most appealing to my heart. This gel-based formula has a slightly bronze base with a pinky orange shift to it. When you pump it out, it looks glossy and when you blend it out, the bronze tone is gone, leaving behind that beautiful pinky shimmer and high gloss.
I like to use this as the very last part of my makeup, after powdering where my face needs it and I would add this to the high points of my cheeks where I usually apply highlighter and sometimes on my eyelids for a wet look. I always apply this with my fingertips and I tap instead of swipe. You can kind of control the intensity of the glossiness by tapping and blending it out as much as you want to. Cosmic Flame will leave a pinky shimmer even when the product is no longer glossy.

Obviously something like this would not be a long-wear product, but at the same time if you don’t move it or touch it, that gloss did look quite nice even after a couple of hours. Even with the gloss being rubbed off, the shimmer still stays on the skin.
Overall
It is a very interesting and fun product to play with if you are into that gloss skin, glass skin look and am not afraid of looking dewy. The pink and orangey reflects in Cosmic Flame isn’t something I would wear often, so I think I would purchase another one that is more champagne gold or even a pinky gold.
Kevyn Aucoin’s own YouTube channel did suggest other ways to use this – under foundation and mixed with foundation. I personally couldn’t see much of a benefit of using this under foundation unless you use a sheet coverage, dewy foundation. If you have oily skin but still want to dewy look in a more “controlled” way, I would use your oil-controlling foundation and then tap this over where you need it.

I also tried using this on my eye lids and brow bone area and it looked pretty nice too! However it’s also not really for day to day wear, but more like party or photoshoot kind of look. Overall, I enjoy this product and it’s such a big tube, I would also use it on my chest and shoulders, wherever I want to. I would get more of this when SkinStore has 20-25% off discounts.
