Where I got it
I have been wanting to try this eye makeup remover for a little while, but I was using a Lancome one before so I decided to go for this after I was finished with it. I picked this up at Smith & Caughey’s for $58. This product is mostly in stock and you should be able to get this fairly easily. This is the only eye makeup remover product by Chanel and I always use a separate eye makeup remover before a cleansing oil.
What I find it
I picked up the Chanel Demaquillant Yeux Intense Gentle Bi-phase Eye Makeup Remover (100ml). DÉMAQUILLANT YEUX INTENSE unites effectiveness and gentleness. The eye contour and lashes are perfectly make-up-free, with no oily film, for an instant sensation of comfort. DÉMAQUILLANT YEUX INTENSE perfectly removes make-up from the eye contour, leaving it soft and supple. A transparent upper phase is composed of highly purified oils to eliminate all types of make-up, even waterproof. A light blue lower phase, rich in rosewater and cornflower water, to soften and soothe the skin. Ophthalmologist tested. pH balanced to tears. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Fragrance-free.
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Cyclopentasiloxane, Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methylparaben, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Propylene Glycol, Triethanolamine, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Ci 42090 (Blue 1).
How I find it
Whenever I wear eye makeup, I would use a bi-phase eye makeup remover to take off my eye makeup first. I saturate a cotton pad to remove my waterproof mascara, tubing mascaras, eyeliners and eye shadow. Then I press it onto my eye lid area and then gently wipe. It removes all of my eyeshadow on first swipe. Then I add a little bit more product and wipe again to remove my long-wearing eyeliners. Then I always fold my cotton pads and then add more product to remove any remaining mascara.
Overall
Overall, this is an effective eye makeup remover, nothing really special about it. It is easy to use and does it’s job. I would say I don’t really need to pay $58 for an eye makeup remover and I could just use a L’Oreal one for $20, or I could use a deluxe sized freebie from Clarins from their gift with purchases. I think this one from Chanel is not over-priced compared to other bigger brands like Clarins, Shiseido, Lancome, etc. They are all around the same price. I would probably repurchase this, but not before I try other brands first.
