Where I got it
I was literally over the moon when CurrentBody contacted me for a PR product because you may already know I am a massive fan of their LED face mask. I was jumping up and down when they asked me what product I wish to try in their collection. I asked if I could try the Neck & Dec Perfector to complete my LED armour. Once the mask was delivered, I immediately unboxed it, charged the mask up and used it in the morning straight away! Before I get into the nitty gritty, let me go through the prices of these bad boys.
My first review of the LED Face Mask was just over a year ago when I bought the Currentbody Skin x Wayne Goss kit for £279 (around NZD$579). I was using it on and off for a while because I was using it at night and I am usually just exhausted by the time I get to bed I cannot be bothered to do my skincare routine after the LED mask. About 5 months later, someone on my IG made a reel about their morning routine and it involves their LED mask and it just dawned on me that I could wake up 10-15 minutes earlier to fit in an LED session in the morning while I’m uninterrupted by my kids and won’t freak my husband out. So I have been using the LED mask in the morning 2-3 times a week for around 3 months, then I started using it on the daily for a month before my sister’s wedding in September. I could definitely see a difference, hence that’s why I am so excited when CurrentBody gifted me the Neck and Dec Perfector.
The Currentbody Skin x Wayne Goss kit is now £305 (NZD$615), if you buy the face mask itself it is £279 (NZD$563). The neck & dec perfector is £250 (NZD$504). If you buy the face mask and neck & dec perfector set it is £449 (NZD$906). It is quite an investment if you think of a one-off purchase, but if you manage to use it 2-3 times a week or daily, you save so much money from going into a clinic to get a treatment. The power of these LED masks are just as powerful and effective as you can get from a clinic as some clinics in the US and UK uses these masks in-clinic as well! A ballpark figure for an LED treatment is between NZS$80-$100 per treatment. So you do the maths.

What I got
I was gifted the Currentbody Neck & Dec Perfector and a bottle of Hyaluronic Acid serum (30ml). The following information has been taken from Currentbody.com:
DUAL WAVE TECHNOLOGY – harnesses two powerful light therapies to encourage the skin’s natural rejuvenation process. The dual wave light works by increasing collagen production and delivering key nutrients to skin’s cells. The light penetrates deep below the skin’s surface to encourage skin cell renewal – resulting in younger, healthier-looking skin.
RED LIGHT – As we age, our skin cells become clogged with toxins, this slows down the natural repairing process. Red Light harnessed at the correct wavelength (633nm) breaks down the toxins, allowing fresh oxygen to the skin’s cells. This allows the skin to repair and renew much more effectively, naturally reversing the ageing process. Red Light also works by increasing energy at a cellular level, which accelerates skin cell regeneration and encourages the production of new collagen and elastin. The result? A more even complexion and skin that visibly glows.
INFRA-RED LIGHT – The technology in the device is also combined with 830nms of Infra-Red Light, which heals the skin from the inside out. The light is delivered to the cells responsible for healing wounds. Once absorbed by these cells, it stimulates them to renew generating new, healthy skin.
WORLD-RENOWNED TECH – LED Neck & Dec Perfector uses medical grade technology created by Omnilux – who are responsible for the global development of LED in beauty, creating gold standard professional technology which is used by doctors and salons worldwide. NASA also back the use of LED light for rejuvenating skin, after discovering that it stimulates the body’s natural cell renewal process, repairing muscles and reducing inflammation.
MADE TO FIT YOUR BODY – Designed to wrap perfectly around the neck and target the décolletage, the CURRENTBODY skin LED Neck & Dec Perfector is made from patented flexible silicone. The lightweight, flexible design fits perfectly to your body enabling the dual light to penetrate every area of the skin. The device comes with two different sized velcro straps. The shorter strap allows you to wrap the device around your neck, sitting directly onto the skin to target both the neck and décolletage. For a more targeted treatment, you can also use the longer strap to treat just the décolletage. A completely hands-free device, you can carry out day to day tasks whilst completing your treatment.

How I find it
Each mask is neatly and safely packaged in a sturdy cardboard box along with a slim controller, USB cable, 2 velcro straps (long and short), instruction manual and a travel draw-string bag. The perfector has the same flexible silicone material with the LED lights spread out around the mask. There are two velcro straps for you to use as there are two options around the neck and chest area. You can use the short strap to wrap the silicone mask around the neck to cover your neck and centre of the chest. If you use the long strap, place the strap through the upper slots and hang the strap over the shoulder and behind the neck so that the wide part of the silicone mask looks after a wider part of the chest (collar bone area) and the rest of the mask covers further down your chest area.
I always use the mask with the short strap to cover my neck as well because I want to treat my neck lines and I don’t have a lot of creasing in between my boobs. After cleansing, I like to apply a lightweight hydrating toner with a cotton pad, and then I pop on the face mask as well as the neck mask, then them on and just do whatever I want to do. Once the 10 minute treatment is over, the mask turns itself off with a beep and I just remove it and complete my skincare routine. I like to use a micellar water on a cotton pad to wipe clean my mask each time and just store it in my drawer. So easy! You are able to use whatever you want for skincare afterwards.
Overall
You won’t be able to see significant anti-aging results with a handful of uses, but if you have redness or sensitivity issues you should be able to see immediate results, and best results if you use it consecutively to reduce irritation and redness. I love using this after an in-clinic microneedling session to promote healing and reduce redness and irritation. After single treatment, I could see my skin recovery to be a lot faster compared to when I don’t use the LED mask. With LED masks, I highly recommend consistency to see best results. The results of LED therapy is not “temporary” and it is both a corrective and preventative measure as well. If you don’t have a lot of fine lines at the moment, use the LED mask to delay the lines from forming. It also helps with improving pigmentation and redness on the skin.
I highly recommend everyone to have an LED face mas at home if you are serious about looking after your skin (retinol and SPF are also the gold standard). If you already love your LED mask, don’t neglect your neck and chest area because you wouldn’t want your neck and chest area to look years older than your face!
