Where I got it
This advent calendar was on my radar when the pictures started going around in late October/early November. Dior launched two advent calendars – a large one and a mini one. The large one is NZD$890 and this mini one is NZD$145, both available at the Dior.co.nz whilst I am writing this. The large calendar contains 24 items (approx. $37 per item) and the mini one contains 4 items (approx. $36 per item).
The large calendar contains the following:
- J’adore Eau de Parfum 5ml
- J’adore Parfum d’eau 5ml
- Sauvage Eau de Toilette 10ml
- Miss Dior Eau de Parfum 5ml
- Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet 5ml

What I got
I picked up the Dior Mini calendar this time because I felt that the large calendar was quite expensive and I already have a lot of my favourite perfumes from Dior Privee Collection and I already have a number of their lipsticks. I would prefer to purchase their skincare value packs if I have $890 just lying around. Anyway, I still wanted a part of the calendar to keep as a memento because the box itself is simply gorgeous.
From the Dior.co.nz website: Dior invites you on a dreamlike and enchanting journey to the heart of 30 Avenue Montaigne where the Atelier of dreams comes to life beneath the show of constellations. Open each window of the set and discover iconic products from the House of Dior.
The selection includes:
- J’adore Eau de Parfum, 5 ml. The Dior fragrance icon, in a fragrance miniature that mirrors the curved shape of the emblematic amphora bottle.
- Miss Dior Eau de Parfum, 5 ml. A fragrance miniature with intricate details, including a miniature of the couture ribbon from the original bottle.
- Dior Prestige La Micro-Huile de Rose Advanced Serum, 10 ml. The exceptional regenerating micro-nutritive serum for face and neck.
- Rouge Dior 999 velvet finish, 1.5 g. A mini lipstick with couture colour and floral lip care, for long-wear lip makeup.
How I find it
As usual, my order from my Dior SA came in a beautiful Christmas-themed box. This year, Dior’s box is a deep blue colour with gold floral and constellation decor. Inside, she has given me a handful of Dior samples. The mini calendar comes in another beautiful box with similar designs with DIOR in the centre and 30 Montaigne The Iconics at the bottom. At the bottom of the box, we have an itemised list of the products in the calendar along with the ingredients list. Inside, the advent calendar is a thick cardboard structure with a ribbon handle at the top. The magnetic tab opens up two flaps on either side revealing the beautiful deep blue box with gold decorations. For the calendar, the design is of the facade of 30 Montaigne in Paris as well as constellation motifs. It is absolutely beautiful. Each tab has a ribbon and you can close the doors and reopen them without ripping anything out.
Overall
Now I wouldn’t really call this an advent calendar because it was not a day-to-day door of surprises, but it is a gorgeous little box of mini gifts for someone new to Dior. The packaging is stunning and it contains some of the most iconic Dior products. The large calendar on the other hand is a lot more expensive, but the price per item is actually really similar and it does contain a lot more exclusive products/items than the mini one. If you have money to spend and have not already owned a lot of Dior products, I think the large calendar will be amazing! I personally have most of the makeup products in the calendar as well as the perfume samples in the large calendar. The only thing I would love from that would be the candles, the skincare and the Lucky star Christmas decoration.
Have you picked up any of the calendars or their gift sets?
