Victoria Beckham makeup haul

Where I got it

A couple of months ago, I made my first Victoria Beckham Beauty order and I ordered her Future Lash as well as a Posh Gloss. I used a 10% discount code that I got from somewhere and it was free shipping for orders over USD$50. I loved the Future Lash mascara, but the Posh Gloss was average. Fast-forward to November, I made my second order during Black Friday sales (20% off with free gift!). So I ordered the Future Lash mascara again, I also picked up the Bitten Lip Tint as well as the Smoky Eye Brick. The Posh Gloss was a gift with purchase.

I picked up the Future Lash Mascara (AUD$46), Posh Gloss in Aperitivo (AUD$46), Bitten Lip Tint in Je’taime (AUD$54), Smoky Eye Brick in Signature (AUD$90).

What I got

Future Lash Mascara (4.8ml). An ultra-black, lengthening, and defining mascara that conditions lashes like hair with VB’s proprietary C2 Complex. Delivers smudge-free, sweat-proof, long-wear performance that won’t quit. Rinses away effortlessly with just warm water.

How I find it

I was really excited with the Future Lash Mascara as it claims to be a tubing mascara and I have not used anything other than that anywhere near my eyes. I have found a couple that I have been using regularly and repurchase when I run out (Kevyn Aucoin – Volume and Curling, Hourglass Unlocked, and MAC Extended Play mascara). 10 years ago, there was hardly any tubing mascara, but there was waterproof mascara and they still do not work for me. I used the use Blinc mascara and L’Oreal Double Extend mascara which was the only brand doing tubing mascaras. Over the last 5-6 years, I started seeing more brands doing tubing mascaras and I had more options.

Alright, let’s get to this mascara. The tube has a nice weight to it and feels expensive. The brush is small, with a bit of a curve to it. The formula doesn’t seem too wet and it’s not clumpy at first. I am glad to see a smaller brush. I tried using this mascara on it’s own and also over a primer I always use with my mascaras. Without the primer, the mascara feels a little weighted and my curls don’t really last. The mascara leaves my lashes thick and voluminous with 2 coats, but any more coats will start to clump. When I tried using this over my trusty primer, my curls can last for the entire day (all thanks to my primer) and it doesn’t affect how the mascara removes (with water). I wouldn’t say this is really a tubing mascara as it doesn’t remove like tubes. I was expecting when I remove the mascara, it would be in the shape of lashes, but when I remove the mascara with water or eye makeup remover, it looks like normal mascara, in clumps. As long as it doesn’t melt around my eyes during normal use, I am happy.

The Posh Gloss is a thick-ish gloss that gives some good pigmentation. This Aperitivo shade is great on my skintone because it is medium rose that looks natural and doesn’t wash me out. Ice is a clear gloss which is not something I use often, but I wouldn’t mind having one when I wear the Bitten Lip tint, but I also want a bit of gloss. The lip gloss feels quite nice, but I personally don’t wear lip gloss often because I simply hate hair sticking to my lips. This lip gloss not sticky on the lips, but hair would still stick on occassionally. I would wear this if I have my hair tied up and out of the way.

I was really looking forward to the Bitten Lip Tint because simply love lip tints. It is something I would wear on a daily basis, especially one that has a watery consistency. Je T’aime is described as a cherry-red which looks quite intense on application (when wet), but looks really flattering when dried down or blotted. I love the slim applicator and the long wand. The consistency of the formula is really lightweight and almost watery on application. The lips are immediately tinted upon application. You can either leave that glossy layer on the lips or blot it right away to reduce the intensity of the tint. This would look great with your favourite lip balm over the top or the clear Posh Gloss if you want a glossy finish, but

Now, the one item that Victoria Beckham herself uses all the time and this is pretty much what she uses to create her “signature eye look”. You know, that smokey eye she is always rocking. This is the Smoky Eye Brick in Signature. Signature is a 4-colour eyeshadow “brick” because all the colours are in one block instead of in separate pans. The packaging is slim and small, but looks really chic, classic and old-school glam. I love the tortoise-shell look on the case and the snap closure. Inside, we have a full size mirror witht he little WB initials at the bottom corner.

The shadows in this brick are all matte shades. All 4 colours are slightly different sizes with the one on the left being the biggest, the second and last shade appears to be similar in size and the darkest shade is the smallest. I assume the largest shade is an overall base shade. It is a light beige colour that is very skin-like with a bit of depth. The second shade has a little more pink, but still very skin-like. The 4th shade from the left is a medium neutral tone brown which is great for buliding up that intensity. Lastly, the 3rd shade is a neutral deeper brown to create that smokey eye look.

Overall

After a good few weeks of use of both products, I would like both products but they are probably not my must-haves. The mascara is very nice and I love the brush, but I did notice a little bit of crumbling of the mascara after wearing it for the entire day and I rub my eyes a little bit. After using this a few times, I started seeing clumps on the bristles so I had to wipe it off otherwise it just gets messy on my lashes. I was honestly a little disappointed. However, it doesn’t make this mascara a failure. I love how it applies and how it volumizes my lashes. The only thing was that I need to use my lash primer to make sure my curls stay in place.

The lip gloss does have a weight to it and I’m just not very used to lip glosses so it is not something I would reach for often. But it does give a good colour to the lips.

I would like to try these products next: Cheeky Posh Cream Blush Stick, Lid Lustre, Reflect Highlighter Stick and the Cell Renewing Priming Moisturiser.
