How I find it
I was looking forward to trying these products because my skin barrier was compromised. I used a rather strong BHA cleanser and also used a 10% benzyl peroxide pimple cream for my jawline area which eventually ruined my skin. My skin was red, itchy, dry, and flakey. I also had more breakouts and they were painful ones. Right when I realised what I have done, I dropped the BHA cleanser, all actives, and my tretinoin and fell back to my trusty simple skincare routine. I used a gentle hydrating milky cleanser, the Reishi serum as well as the Lancome Genifique Serum then the 730 Daily Moisture Cream, and the Cerave Daily Moisturising Lotion. I also used the La Roche-Posay B5 masque as well as the B5 Baume as an intense balm over the flakey area overnight. I also used my CurrentBody LED masks daily to help my skin recover and bring down redness. This combo helped my skin bounce back within a week and I was really glad. Let’s get into the details of these products.
Vegreen Skin Barrier Reishi Serum is a very lightweight, almost-watery serum. It has a very faint scent that is from the ingredients in this serum, not as a perfume. I was very impressed that the first ingredient is a mushroom extract and a probiotic ingredient and water are 4th on the list. The serum goes right on my skin after cleansing and I have experienced no stinging, no burning sensation whatsoever. I was quite glad and felt reassured that this is going to help my skin. The serum also provides light hydration to the skin and then I will just apply the 730 Daily Moisture Cream over the top.
The 730 Daily Moisture Cream is a simply moisturiser – not too thick, just the right consistency. It is not a luxurious cream, but it is fragrance-free and does not sting compromised skin. You can literally apply this anytime during the day, regardless of your skin type and skin concerns. It is not greasy and it contains no active ingredients so it is a fail-safe product that you can just fall back on. I love using this when I am using tretinoin and I just want a fuss-free moisturiser. In saying that, this moisturiser provides moisture to the skin and that’s about it.
Overall
I am very pleased with both of these products and they are exactly as I have expected them to be. After healing my compromised skin, I kept using the Reishi serum to ensure my skin barrier is in tip-top condition and it just made me feel safe to use. I kept using the serum underneath my Tretinoin and then the Daily Moisture Cream over the top. I would add the odd actives serum in the morning, but my nighttime routine can be quite simple when I use tretinoin.
