Where I got it
Ever since this perfume launched in 2022 and my Dior beauty SA gave me a sample to go home with, I fell in love! The light and fresh floral fragrance captivated me. The beautiful white opalescent glass bottle has the same gold design around the class J’adore bottle. This is Dior’s firsr alcohol-free perfume that comes in 50ml and 100ml. On the Dior.co.nz website the 50ml is NZD$223 ($218 on Smith & Caughey’s) and 100ml is NZD$320. The only thing that stopped be getting this perfume is the price. $223 for 50ml is not exactly within my budget at the moment.
However, my WeChat beuaty group recently offered 25% off everything from Dior (excludes premium range). So I asked if the J’adore D’eau is available. Lo and behold, it is available and it comes down to $163.50 for 50ml. So I saved $54.50.

What I got
This is a bottle of the Dior J’Adore D’eau eau de parfum (50ml). The new fragrance, a concentration of water and flowers: J’adore Parfum d’eau reinvents the promise of pleasure that J’adore has upheld since 1999. The pleasure of a reinvented J’adore bouquet with a strong natural focus: Neroli from Vallauris injects its full freshness into J’adore Parfum d’eau, while sunny notes of jasmine sambac meld with velvety notes of Chinese magnolia. The pleasure of a patented alcohol-free formula exclusive to Dior with the same long-lasting intensity of an eau de parfum that stays true all day long. How I find it
After smelling it for the first time at the Dior beauty boutique at Commercial Bay Auckland, I thought it was beautiful and absolutely something that I love. I love white floral scents of different intensities. The J’adore d’eau is a light intensity fragrance with really good longevity. It stays on your skin and on your clothes for a good few hours without being intrusive or intimidating to others around you. This is lovely during Spring and Summer for it’s freshness and cleanliness. I would also wear it in Autumn and Winter when I wanted something lighter, but I would also go for something more intense like Jimmy Choo’s Radiant Tuberose.

With perfume, I like to leave about 20cm from my body and then spray and walk into the mist of perfume. The bottle gives off a beautiful fine mist without stray droplets. Since it is light, I use 2 sprays to cover my body. If you are used to intense fragrances, this is probably either not for you or you will need quite a few sprays each time. The light layer of perfume is perfect for me and I don’t give anyone else a headache (I think).

Overall
This perfume is truly very pleasant to wear and the luxurious bottle makes the entire experience very delicate and sophisticated. I really think a light layer of perfume on someone is very elegant and very pleasant to be around. I really dread sitting next to someone else or be in the proximity of someone that has doused themselves with strong perfume. This perfume is delicate and fresh, but it’s not one-of-a-kind. You could find something similar out there, but Dior does a great job with this one, creating a good balance between a sparkling freshness and sensual florals.
