Where I got it

I received these products for free from Picky and SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review. This looks like a new range from Skin1004 which currently consists of these 3 products – a toner, an ampoule, and a cream. This collection also features Pure Centella from Madagascar focuses on repairing and strenghtening the skin barrier. Probiotics to reduce skin inflammation and reduce skin sensitivity.

What I got

Contains Centella Asiatica extract an ingredient that effectively soothes the skin, and vegan ProBio-Cica (Centella fermented with TECA), providing care for the weak and sensitive skin barriers. Repairs damaged skin barrier to prevent the evaporation of moisture and provide care for dry sensitive skin. Improves the skin smoothness on the forehead, chin, nose, and cheeks as well as the skin around the eyebrows, eyes, and mouth as validated by professional skin clinicians. Does not contain any artificial fragrances or colors and is safe to use on all skin types including sensitive skin.

Skin1004 Probio-Cica Essence Toner (210ml). This probiotic essence toner, infused with fermented Centella Asiatica from Madagascar and ceramides, helps strengthen the skin barrier and provides instant nourishment to the skin.

Skin1004 Probio-Cica Enrich Cream (50ml). This intensive repair cream, containing fermented Centella Asiatica from Madagascar and ceramides, helps encourage the skin’s natural power to repair damaged barrier.

How I find it

Let’s start with the Probio-Cica Essence Toner since this collection does not have a cleanser. After cleansing, this is the next step. It is a “thick” essence toner meaning that it comes out like an essence, but melts down/absorbs like a toner. As you can see on the cotton pad, it has been semi-absorbed already. This feels just like any other essence/toner on the skin. Without any fragrance, this instantly hydrates and soothes the skin. The hydration isn’t intense, but it’s enough to prep the skin for the next product.

And the next product is the Intensive Ampoule which is more or less your serum. It is a lightweight, milky serum with a slightly runny texture. It also contains no fragrance or colorant so it is very gentle on the skin. This is supposed to have the most concentrated effective ingredient so I would expect this to do most of the job for soothing and comforting the skin. I can also feel this serum being lightly moisturising, a little more than the essence toner, but still, this would not last the entire day.

Finally, the Enrich Cream seals everything in. I was expecting this cream to just be a regular cream texture, but it actually has that snail-extract sort of texture with the stringy-ness to it. It’s not slimy at all and not super thick. I would say it is not a gel-cream texture so it envelopes the skin very nicely without feeling it is quickly absorbed into the skin. It leaves a comfortable layer of protection without the stickiness. I usually am not drawn to the corresponding moisturiser in the same line that contains pretty much the same kind of ingredients because I like to use the serum as it contains more concentrated ingredients. For me, the moisturiser just needs to be an emollient to seal everything in. This Enrich Cream does exactly that and even if it doesn’t contain those specific ingredients, I would love to use this cream over any of my other serums.

Overall

Generally, I am pleased with all of the products in this range with my top pick being the Enrich Cream. It was a pleasant surprise on the texture and how it applies to the skin and that it leaves a comforting layer on the skin. The Intensive Ampoule would be the next product I would choose because I love a serum with the highest concentration of potent ingredients. I would say the Essence Toner was quite meh. It didn’t really do much for my skin except for the light hydration which I could easily achieve with just a facial mist. I usually prefer an AHA/BHA toner to gently exfoliate my skin before I apply my serums so this is probably going to take me longer to finish.

Overall, I absolutely love all of Skin1004’s packaging, from the paper box down to the actual bottles and jars of the product. I love the sensorial experience of the packaging and the Enrich Cream. It proves that even though the products are fragrance-free, they can give you a nice sensorial experience.
