Where I got it
If you have been on the internet looking at clothes and shoes and everything in fashion, chances are you have already seen VIVAIA somewhere. They are a sustainable footwear and apparel brand creating stylish and eco-friendly pieces. There is plenty of content out there about this brand and there are many content creators with discount codes and links to get you a discount. Most of the time, they have a sale or discount going on anyway, so you just keep an eye on the pair that you want and maybe wait for it to go on sale. Otherwise, there would be discount codes out there for 10-15% off.
Initially, I wanted one of the round-toe or pointed-toe flats, but I was still on the fence because I’m used to wearing flats that are less than $100, and these are around AUD$150 depending on the style. So I put that away for a little while. After a few months, I’m back, but for knee-high boots – for wide calves. I have wide calves and it has been such a hassle getting boots that fit. I had a pair of faux leather boots with elastic panels at the back that I got from Kmart that I wore to death (literally lasted my only maybe 2 years). After that, I looked at Stuart Weitzman’s 50/50 boots, but we don’t have an SW shop here for me to try on, and I am not willing to invest over $1300 for a pair of boots that I don’t know if it would fit.
Anyway, that’s a bit of a long story. VIVAIA has a few different styles of boots to choose from, and in the knee-high boots, you can choose between block heels or low heels. I picked this style called Rebecca which is a pull-up knee-high style with block heels and square-toe in black. These were on sale from AUD$292.75 to AUD$215.30. Similar to Rebecca, we also have Tara 2.0 which is also a square-toe design, but at a lower heel height. Rebecca comes in Black, Dark Chocolate, and Navy.

How I find it
The boots are a snug fit to my wide calves, a little on the tight side so I can’t really slip in any jeans or leggings. I thought I would be OK with stockings, but the first time I try them with stockings, I had a lot of trouble trying to pull it up. The stockings did give a lot of friction so I would need to wear there on bare legs.
The cuff at the top is a little tight so it stays up, but it also squeezes the area under my knee a little bit. If your calves are longer, it should sit perfectly without pushing up, but if your calves are shorter than mine, the boot would either push up to the kneecap or look a little scrunched down the calf area.
The boots have a very warm lining so it is so good for winter even when you are wearing just stockings and a skirt. Personally, I would not wear shorts or skirts in winter or any cold weather without any stockings, but since I cannot put these on with stockings, I would need to wear a skirt with these boots. The block heel is very sturdy and stable with good support so I would easily walk in these for a long time.
Overall
In all honesty, I was a little disappointed in these boots. Not because of the quality, but because of the fit. I know with shoes, it is best to try them on in person to see how it fits. You cannot fully rely on reviews of other people for sizing and comfortability. I would say these boots look beautiful, but they do fit quite tight. I would have loved to be able to wear leggings or stockings with my boots during colder months, so these are now a lot less versatile.
These boots are indeed very warm on the legs and they are splash-resistance and resist stains. I have yet to wear them in wet weather, so I’m not sure how well it performs, but I have tried pouring a little bit of water over the boots and they do fall right off. The care instructions were to just gently scrub the outside and inside with a brush to remove any dried dirt.
After purchasing these boots, I started seeing their ads a lot more, and during the summer new style launch, they had a couple of different promos for their new styles. I will be posting the reviews of those shoes in due course!
