Where I got it
I first saw this from one of Lydia Millen’s vlogs on Youtube and she has the most amazing lashes. Now I know she is born with long, lush lashes which basically any mascara would work on her anyway. But when I looked into the website and the product, I love how that the mascara has this slim, flexible one-sided brush instead of your usual bristle brush. More on that later.
Anyway, I decided to purchase the set with their Lash Lift Mascara and the Eyelash Serum so I can condition my lashes and make them grow longer and fuller. They also sell, brow pencils, eyeliners, false lashes and beauty tools like tweezers, scissors and lash glue. Sweed has two types of mascara (both come in a set with the eyelash serum) – Cloud and Lash Lift. Cloud is more for volumising while Lash Lift is for lengthening and definition (separation). Cloud does have a more regular brush but with silicone bristles, therefore still looks small and easy to maneuver.
The set is USD$75 on their website, while the mascara itself is $31 and the Eyelash serum is $55 for 3ml and $80 for 5ml. Therefore the set is worth $86 in a presentable gift pack.
What I got
I ordered the Sweed Lash Lift Mascara and Lash Serum set. This set contains a Lash Lift Mascara (8ml) and an Eyelash Serum (3ml), both full size products.

Unlike most mascara brushes that leave the first third of your lash roots bare, the groundbreaking skinny wand starts coating your lashes at the roots for a beautiful lift and lengthening effect. How I find it
First of all, it is easy to review the Lash Lift Mascara, but it would take longer for me to do a full review of the Eyelash Serum. Therefore I would just do an initial impression of the serum and possibly do a full review of the serum later on my IG. I do like to point out that this eyelash serum does not contain the controversial growth hormone, namely prostaglandin (see artical here). Anyway, let’s get to the review of the mascara.
I have short and quite sparse lashes to start with that is on the softer side and with the right eyelash primer+mascara, my lashes can hold a curl. I personally prefer a lightweight mascara that separates and lengths. I also love tubing mascaras like Victoria Beckham’s Future Lash Mascara and the Hourglass Unlocked Mascara. This mascara isn’t a tubing mascara but I heard that it is a good water-resistant mascara with a very nice brush I was willing to give this a try.
I tried this right away without any primer and I right away fell in love with the brush because it is small and like a comb. It brushes through my lashes easily without clumping. It coats my lashes perfectly and lengthened them beautifully. I love the immediate look of my lashes. However, after a few hours of wear, I started to see my lashes droop and starting to fade along my under-eye area. I was a little disappointed to see that, but I tried other ways to make it work.
Next, I tried it with my trusty lash primer (Japanese brand- pmel essence mascara base) to try and keep my lashes curled, which I thought would improve the fading situation. However, a similar thing happened, but my lashes are still held up by the mascara base. I also tried it with a good layer of powder under the eye area to avoid any sebum around the area that would cause the mascara to fade. That worked a little better, but after a good 5-6 hours of wear, I do start to see that panda eye issue again (see photo below).
Overall
I had high hopes for this mascara, but it was a little disappointing. The mascara started to fade at around the 4th hour mark and my skin wasn’t even very oily and the termperature was low and humidity was low as well. I noticed that my lashes has not dropped, so my lashes are kept curled up without any problems. There were no flaking, so no bits of mascara along my under eye area, it’s just a dark area under the area from the mascara because my eyeliner is tattooed on and I did not put any eye shadow on my lids. The shape of my eyes were probably a contributing factor in this where the underside of my eye touches the base of the lashes when I blink and eventually melt the mascara and then transfer.
Besides the mascara, I have also been using the lash serum for a good 3 weeks already, despite not using it daily, I do see an improvement in the length of my lashes and is yet to see improvment in volume. The lash serum formula is not too watery so when I put it on my lashes, it doesn’t run into my eyes. I only apply it to the mid-lengths of my lahses, not too close to the roots. My lower lashes are so short, it is really hard to apply anything there, but I try my best.
