Where I got it

I have been looking at Monday Muse products for a while and I was initially very interested in their serum (The Juice) and cleanser (Milky Gel Cleanser) as well as a scalp-care product (The Gloss). The brand does ship to New Zealand but the shipping cost has prevented me from purchasing from them. Until I was offered a one-off discount code for 20% off.

I ordered the Clarify & Balance Mini Bundle for $113, The Cleanser for $60, and The Gloss for $96. All prices shown above are in NZD. Monday Muse rarely does any sale, so when you see one, hop to it! As I am writing, they are doing a Black Friday sale (20% off site-wide) and they only do this once a year!

What I got

Clarify & Balance Mini Bundle. This bundle contains 2 mini sizes of their best-sellers: The Juice and The Nectar (both 15ml). The Juice is a “3-in-1 daily serum that contains a powerful blend of clinically-backed ingredients that is designed to hydrate, strengthen and gently clarify the skin. It boosts hydration levels for plump skin, helps minimise the appearance of pores, fades discoloration and balances uneven tone, blemish-reducing with naturally-clarifying complex, and is a gentle alternative to prevent future breakouts.”

How I find it

The Cleanser is a gentle cleanser with a milky-gel consistency. The soft and gentle cleanser is great for all skin types. I have combination skin which gets a little oily during summer, but a little dry during winter. I have learned to like gentle cleansers – from milky cleansers to low-foaming gel cleansers. The Cleanser is a second cleanser so I would always use a cleansing oil or balm to remove any makeup and sunscreen before using this. This cleanser leaves my skin hydrated, balanced, and comfortable.

The Juice is a daily serum and I have been dying to try this! This could be used day and night and directly after cleansing if you don’t have a toner. The serum has a milky consistency with a slight thickness. Lightweight and spreads easily, I only need one dropper of the serum to cover my face and neck. My skin feels hydrated upon application and my skin drinks it up, then it is ready for the next product. A small 15ml bottle of this product would not last me any more than 3 weeks so I am unsure if I would be able to provide a useful review. The small sample size is pretty much for me to see how I like the texture and if my skin shows any irritation to it.

The Nectar was one that I wasn’t too excited about because it is a facial oil. With combination skin, I would only use this at night and only use about 3 drops because I don’t like that greasy, oily feeling.

I often see The Gloss on my IG platform and on Monday Muse’s IG account. This is not skincare, but scalp care to nourish the scalp and help with hair loss and boost hair growth. This is a pre-wash scalp treatment that you can leave on 10-20 mins before washing your hair, or you can also leave this on overnight for a deeper treatment. I have been using this for a few weeks since I only wash my hair every 2nd or 3rd day. I usually apply this about 10-20mins before I wash my hair because it does make my hair and scalp look pretty greasy so I cannot leave this overnight or go out with greasy hair like that.

The oil is beautiful and lightweight, therefore a little goes a long way. I only use 1 dropper-full of this oil to cover all over my scalp and I will use my fingertips to massage the oil into the scalp. I also use a massaging brush to spread it evenly through my hair as well. Then I just put on a hairband or a clip to put my hair out of my face. Washing this off is easy with just normal shampoo and there is no residue or greasy feeling after washing off.

After a few weeks of use of this oil, I did see my hair grow faster. I recently went to my hairdresser and he said my hair has grown so fast! I think it is a combination of the previous haircut, lifestyle, and this product. I have also been taking other supplements (not specific to hair) which may assist hair growth as well. I have stopped tying my hair up into a ponytail because it is now short and unable to be tied up.

Overall

I managed to finish The Juice after a good 2.5 weeks of use twice a day. However, I am still only 20% down for The Nectar, also only 40% down for The Gloss. As for The Cleanser, I think I have only used maybe 10% because I started using it late. I like all of the products I’ve tried so far, including The Nectar even though I don’t use it often, but I can feel that they are of high quality and the sensorial experience is great. I enjoy using these and I would continue using them until they finish. I think I would repurchase The Gloss and The Cleanser, but maybe not The Juice and The Nectar because I do have other serums that work much better for my concerns.
