Where I got it
I was browsing on Instagram explore page for more information on the AIDA Glutathione Brightening Mask Toning Effect Gel Mask (this one is amazing and I’m also review this as well), I saw the same lady with this ampoule pads on her forehead and her cheeks. Then she wiped it all over my face and also her neck an chest area. The area she wiped pass looked dewy and glowy, almost looking wet. It looked like she piled on serum or essence all over ther body and left it there. However, when she pressed tissue paper over her glossy skin, it falls off without fail. Her skin is not sticky at all! Toner pads and ampoule pads are very popular in Korea. You use it after cleansing as a toner, and you can leave these thin pads on your skin as a quick mask. There are many different types to target acne, brightening, calming, retinol, hydrating, etc. The pads are thin and drenched in serum/essence, they are not the usual thick cotton pads and they are not exfoliating pads.
After hunting down the gel masks from the same brand, I also hunted downt these amopule pads. I found these on Amazon. It was USD$42 for 50 sheets at that time.
I did a little research on this brand, and it turns out the full brand name of this is MD AIDA. The lady in the IG reel (@md_aida) is allegedly the president of this company. From what I see, this is a members-only, tiered company where you can only purchase directly once you have joined. Their website is fully Korean, so that’s as far I could go. If you know more about this brand, please let me know on my IG account (@kittiemui).

The kit comes in a bottle of ampoule liquid and a tub of dry mask sheets. Everything is sealed and secure, but the box was a little damaged from shipping. I’m not too fussed as long as the contents are fine. The packaging is generally white with a blue ombre, gives you this clean and cool feeling. The tub of dry pads has a screw-off top part and a flip-up top lid for easy access. The tweezers to pick up the pads can be stored underneath the lid.
How I find it
Finally I’ve got my hands on this ampoule pad kit! Since this brand does not seem to have an online shop, I am a little frugal on using up these pads. I was also unable to find a lot of information on this product in english, so I used Google Translate to translate from Korean. Most of the representative-produced IG posts and reels looks amazing, but I cannot tell how real it is because they start with amazing glassy skin before using the pads and they look just a glassy after using the pads. They also use other AIDA products after the pads afterwards. Some real reviews from consumers of this products are a hit and miss, but mostly hits because this product really is very hydrating, you will see below.
So after removing the safety seals from the tub and the bottle of liquid, I poured the entire contents into the pads. There is an indication on the side of the bottle if you want to achieve “light moist” or “deep moist & glow”. I suppose you can use the remaining liquid as a toner with cotton pad if you opt for light moist. Then I have to wait for at least an hour for the pads to fully soak through evenly.
After soaking through, picking up the pads would see each sheet to be evenly soaked through and translucent. The pads are perforated down the middle so it is easy to split if you need a smaller size.
With these ampoule pads, it is recommended to use as a mask instead of a wipe-once toner pad. So after cleansing, I pick out one pad for each of my cheeks, half on my forehead and half on my nose (as per photo below). After the first try, I reduced to only using two pads in total – half on each cheek, half on forehead and half on my chin/nose whichever I felt needed it the most.
As you can see the pad is very thin and adheres to the skin very well. You can leave these on for well over 30 minutes without them drying up. Since this is quite hard to get, I am quite frugal to using more than I need. Once I’m done with these on my face, I wipe the rest of the liquid on either my chest, arms and legs.
As you can see, after removing the pad from the back of my hand, you can see how much liquid is on my hand. This looks wet and it IS wet. I need to pat or massage it in, and then I used my own serum and light moisturiser over the top. One thing I like to point out is that I could skip serums and go straight into a light moisturiser and SPF during the day. The ampoule is super hydrating and leaves like a film on the skin. The film does not feel tight on the skin, nor does it feel heavy. It feels almost like a serum that has not dried up, some people might think it looked a little oily, but to me, it is glowy (lol).
I also tried pressing a piece of tissue on my skin and let it drop, it had no problem dropping down without sticking to my skin. However, my skin is not as wet-looking and glossy as her’s (md_aida), but of course I have plenty of enlarged pores and acne scarring that no ampoule pads can erase. I am merely looking for something to really drench my skin with hydration and moisture.
Overall
I am very pleased with this ampoule pad overall. The large pad and perforated pad is a small gesture, but it makes life easier. The ampoule liquid is super hydrating and moisturising. I could imagine using the liquid as a hydrating toner or a spray toner if I don’t want to use it on a pad. I also highly recommend to use the pads on your body after removing it from your face because there are so much remaining liquid on the pads.
