Hi everybody, this is the first time I’m doing this type of blog post. I have decided to document all the Chanel beauty products I’ve bought this year in chronological order. Enjoy!
January
I bought 4 of new Rouge Allure lipsticks (4). This is not a particular new collection, but this is when Chanel was offering this gorgeous 4-lipstick case that you can transform into a micro handbag holding your cards, keys, lipstick and little trinkets (except for your phone). You had to get 4 lipsticks to receive the gift so i picked up 4 new lipsticks.
March – Delices Pastel de Chanel Collection
This collection lanched in the US in early April, but it was available in early March over here in New Zealand. I picked up the Fantaisie de Chanel Illuminating Blush in Pastel Fuschia, and the Baume Essentiel in Dragee in this collection. Within the same month, my SA told me Chanel has also released a new Chance Body Cream, so I bought the new Chance Body Cream, a Stylo Sourcils Waterproof in Brun Noir, and a Le Liner de Chanel in Noir Profond.
April – Spring/Summer collection
The Spring/Summer collection launched in April in the US and NZ, and I picked up the Les 4 Rouges Yeux Et Joues Eyeshadow and Blush Palette in Tendresse, a Vernis Longwear Nail Color in Watermelon, and a Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Rouge Frais. Within the same month, my SA told me that they have limited release of the No5 L’Eau On Hand Cream, so I got the hand cream as well as a Le Lait Cleansing Milk.
May – Les Beiges Summer To-go
I always love Les Beiges collection and this year we have travel-friendly sized products. I picked up the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Cream, and a Les Beiges Healthy Glow Illuminating Oil. I have already bought the large bottle of the Illuminating Oil in 2022 and I love it so much, I had to get the smaller bottle for travel! The glow cream was released a little earlier in NZ than in US, but the Bronzing Creams were released later in NZ than in the US. Later in the same month, I ended up purchasing the Les Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch as well, along with the Le Vernis in Cavalier Seul and Immortelle.
July – Chanel Codes Couleur
This collection was really hyped up and people were going pretty crazy about this. Especially people who collect Chanel products. New Zealand did not get all the colours, especially not the popular colours like pink and lavender. I managed to pick up the Les Pinceaux de Chanel Brush Trio in Diva. and the Mirror Duo Compact in Cavalier Seul.
August – Les Symboles de Chanel Highlighters
We start to see holiday launches coming up as early as August and this collection is stunning. Even thought there were only 3 different shades, but in 5 different embossing, this quickly hyped up for collectors to buy more than one highlighter they required. These highlighters are oversized so they are larger than the usual compact. I picked up an Oversize Illuminating Face Powders – Pearly White in The Pearls and also the La Base Matifiante which Chanel has also released in the background.
September
So during the month of September, Chanel invited me to their exclusive launch of their 31 Le Rouge – yes, the most expensive lipstick ($250 each). I tested out the lipsticks in this post, but I did not purchase any. Instead, I bought a Le Crayon Levres – Bois de Rose (missing in photo), L ‘Huile de Camelia, and Le Vernis in Ballerina and Top Gel Coat.
October – Chanel Holiday 2023 Collection
We are now in full swing of holiday collection and this year we have a gorgeous illuminating powder, eyeshadow palette, a couple of lipsticks and nail polishes mainly. I picked up the Duo Lumiere Illuminating Powder Duo, and Le Vernis in Tuxedo and White Silk. I am not interested in the eyeshadow palette mainly because of the black shade in it. I hardly put on a smokey eye look so I would never use black.
Here are the collections that I did not purchase, but I have added links to The Beauty Lookbook’s review.
No 1 de Chanel Skin Enhancers (August). These are illuminating primers in 3 shades, but very much similar to Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid, which I already have. The new enhancers are softer, but I don’t think I would be able to detect a difference from me using the Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid. Therefore I would not be purchasing these.
Chanel Beauty Fall-Winter 2023 (August). These are the two deep blushes with the large CC in the middle in a different shade. Overall, the shades of these two blushes are too deep for my skintone. Also in the collection are the loose eyeshadows which seems to have really bad reviews by a lot of people. They are pigmented, but they are dusty and messy. There are also lipsticks and nail polish that are fall-themed and not too appealing to me.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres Byzance (September). Another collection that the shades are not appealing to me, but are highly collectable compact design. The gold design inside the compact is very special. Out of the 4 palettes, 2 of them are more neutral and everyday wear, and the other two are more special with red and green shades. There were no other products with this launch.
Chanel 31 Le Rouge Satin Lipstick (September). As mentioned above, I did not purchase the 31 Le Rouge Lipsticks simply because they are overpriced. The 31 Le Rouge are a permanent collection, but at the event you have to purchase at least 1 lipstick and 2 refills to recieve a limited edition wooden box and leather lipstick pouch as a gift with purchase.
