Alpha-H Dawn To Dusk SPF50+ Serum

Where I got it

I have been wanting to try this sun serum out ever since it launched (only recently). I waited for a sale and this black Friday sale at 30% off is the perfect time to try it. Originally $64.95, it came down to $45.46! I love sunscreen and this one looks moisturising! SPF50 appears to be the new standard and I fully trust SPF from Australian brands because the sun in Australia is crazy brutal. They also have strict requirements for claims in SPF ratings and under strict testing. Let’s get to the nitty gritty of this sunscreen serum!

What I got

This is the Alpha-H Dawn to Dusk SPF50+ serum (30ml). Skincare meets suncare with this lightweight silky SPF sunscreen. UVA and UVB filters offer broad-spectrum sun protection while Niacinamide, Vitamin E, and Aloe Vera leave skin looking smooth and luminous from Dawn to Dusk. Silky, lightweight SPF serum that combines UVA and UVB filters with Niacinamide and Vitamin E for a hydrated and nourished complexion.

Ingredients: Aqua, Homosalate, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Dibutyl Adipate, Glycerin, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Vp/hexadecene Copolymer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Niacinamide, Phenoxyethanol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium Edta.

How I find it

Initially, when I tried this serum on the back of my hand, I thought it looked like a fluid form of traditional sunscreen. It has a thick lotion consistency and is quite different from my favourite K-beauty and J-beauty sunscreen textures. However, when I blended it out, the lotion-like sunscreen blended seamlessly on my hand, and the white colour disappeared.

I wouldn’t say this is the most lightweight sunscreen serum I have ever tried, but this is moisturising and applies silky smooth. Not thick and difficult to spread, but smooths out evenly without the need to rub it around the nose area or along the hairline area. If you have dry skin or dehydrated skin, this one is great for you.

Overall

I really enjoy this sunscreen, especially in the morning when I want a bit more hydration and moisture from my SPF. It is not thick so you can easily apply a decent amount and not feel like it is difficult to spread or that it stays on top of the skin without sinking in. The glow is not natural-looking, non-greasy and I love how it does not leave a white cast. Makeup goes on effortlessly and without rubbing or pilling.
