Where I got it

On a recent trip to Japan, I managed to pick up quite a few lip tints. I was heavily influenced by a fellow beauty content creator I follow – @gina8_23 . Gina is based in Japan and she is as beautiful of a person as her IG content. She gave me so much information on where I could shop for particular products in Japan. If you see this Gina, thank you so much!

It was not easy to find their products actually, they are not exactly the most popular brand/product at the moment. I saw these at @cosme and loft stores. They have a little stand to contain only some products. I mostly saw the Jel-fit tints in most locations, but I was lucky enough to find the Bebe Tint and Lip Plumper as well! You are able to purchase these online from places like Yestyle, Olive Young, Stylevana to name a few. These were 1,650yen each.

Anyway, Amuse is a K-beauty brand and no surprise they are amazing. From packaging to formulation, they are always one step ahead of the trend and their products are so up my alley. Even though it looks like the target customers for their products are teenagers or 20’s, it is just as appealing to an almost-40 yo women. The pill-like packaging is so darn cute and you just have to see the performance of these lip tints!

What I got

I managed to pick up the Amuse Bebe Tint in Grape Bebe, a Lip Plumper/Fuller, and two Jel-Fit Tint in Pumpkin Helly and Boksoonga Jelly. The Bebe tints have a solid colour cap and the Jel-Fit tints have a clear cap. the Lip Plumper has a clear lid and the product itself is clear.

The Bebe Tint (3.8g). Comes in 8 shades, with occassional limited edition shades. The Bebe Tints are a 3-in-1 – tint + plump + care hydrating lip oil tint. It provides 24-hour long-lasting tint with a plumping, glossy finish.

The Jel-fit tint (3.8g). Comes in 12 shades, with occassional limited edition shades. The Jel-Fit Tints claims to provide 12-hour lasting colour, glow and moisture. It contains 8 hyaluronic acids, peach extract, and vitamin E acetate.

How I find it

Alright, let’s talk about the formula first. The Bebe Tint has good pigment and this cooling gel consistency. It’s refreshing and smells like grapes (not sure if other shades smell the same?). The lip tint feels watery on the lips and feels hydrating instantly. It is not sticky at all but you can feel it on the lips. The end result is glossy and jelly-like lips.

The staying power of the gloss is not outstanding, it does wear off as you eat and drink and move your lips, but the staining power is amazing! You have to commit to where you want to put this because it will stain for hours. However, the colour of the stain is slightly different to the colour when you first apply.

Grape Bebe is a red grape shade with a cool undertone. The photo didn’t really show that vibrant grape colour when there isn’t another shade to compare with. The stain it leaves is more of a rosewood shade, but it is still gorgeous.

As for the Jel-fit Tints, I could hardly tell the difference besides the different cap. The Bebe Tints has a solid colour cap, and the Jel-fit Tints has a clear cap. Other than that, they both have the same pigmentation, the same glossy finish, watery fresh texture and even the same staining power. I am assuming that Bebe Tint is an improved version of Jel-fit Tint, I’m not sure. On the website it does say that is has 12-hour lasting power, compared to 24-hour for the Bebe Tint. The shade range appears to be similar, but a lot more options for Jel-fit and it’s more commonly found in Japan. The only time I saw Bebe Tint, there were only a handful of shades and most of them have sold out.

Anyway, Pumpkin Jelly is a limited edition shade. It is a pinky pumpkin shade with a warm undertone. As you can see below when you apply a thick layer versus a blended out layer of colour. And then the stain it leaves when you wipe it off.

Boksoonga Jelly is the lightest shade available that is not limited edition. It is a baby pink that doesn’t make you look like you’re playing with kids makeup. I often refrain from getting pale pink shades because my natural lip tone is purplish. But this one here leaves a beautiful pink stain that works with my undertone. So this shade

Overall

I am so in love with my Amuse lip tints, they are so cute and they are exactly what I want on my lips most of the time. It is hydrating with a nice tint of colour. The gloss wears off gradually and it’s not sticky or thick on the lips. I love the light fruity scent as well! I have already ordered more shades and in the limited daisy packaging edition. I will add some more photos here, but check my IG for more videos and swatches!
