Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow Highlighter Duo

Where I got it

As soon as I saw this blush and highlighter duo online, I really liked the look of the duo. The simple quilting embossing is so chic and elegant, but what made me know I want to buy one is this particular colourway – pink and lilac. Dior also launched 5 other beautiful shades.  I texted my Dior beauty SA who works at the Commercial Bay Dior beauty store and she put this away for me and I paid $110 for it.

I was a little disappointed when the item was sent to me using a courier bag. Even though it was wrapped with bubble wrap along with some lovely samples, I was expecting better packaging like a Dior box or even a little cotton bag to put everything in. Maybe it was a small order, maybe that’s the way they do it now? Anyway, let’s get into the blush and highlighter duo!

What I got

This is the Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow Highlighter Duo in 287 Dioramour. Rouge Blush Colour & Glow is the duo palette in matte and glow finishes by Dior. In a single step, the powder textures blend seamlessly with the skin for a “blush & glow” or “contour & glow” effect depending on the chosen harmony.

Each multi-use Rouge Blush Colour & Glow face palette pairs two shades: One matte shade with buildable intensity to add color and structure, and one highlighter shade infused with multi-dimensional pearlescent pigments to bathe the face in spectacular light.

Among these color duos designed to create a multitude of looks, the Blush & Glow shades can be used to enhance the complexion, while the Contour & Glow shades are designed for contouring for a natural finish.

A Dior innovation, the powders are infused with gel to create a soft, fine texture that blends seamlessly with the skin for a weightless finish. Long-wearing, they ensure a feeling of comfort.

How I find it

How gorgeous is this blush and highlighter duo! The compact and box packaging is the standard Dior packaging, nothing too exciting here. The compact does not have a velvet pouch so nothing is protecting it. I would expect a little pouch for $110, wouldn’t I? The compact opens up to a full-sized mirror and two beautiful colours.

While the website says the blush is matte, I would say it is more of a satin finish. It does have a hint of sheen so it’s not flat matte. The pale pink is quite sheer and you need to build it up for the colour to show up on the skin if you have anything deeper than a light/medium skin tone. I have light to medium skin tone depending on the season and depending on the foundation shade I go for. After layering the blush, the pale pink gave me a more youthful look and it looked barely there.

Let’s try the lilac highlighter. This highlighter has a beautiful pearlescent sheen to it. It is not shimmery or glittery which looks amazing when layered over the pink blush. It also looks great on its own. You can see the slight pink pearlescent shift in the lilac highlighter in different angles and it is so pretty! The highlighter is also quite sheer so you need to build up the intensity you want. This would show up on all skin tones.

Overall

This blush and highlighter compact looks gorgeous in the compact and on the back of the hand. The shade 287 Dioramour I picked was quite pale and sheer, so it doesn’t show up on all skin tones. I’m not sure how other shades perform, but this one takes a few layers to see some colour. The blush is pale, but sheer so it won’t “lighten” the skin if you know what I mean. The highlighter is really pretty with a subtle sheen.

I assume that other shades may show up a lot better on my skin tone and I am tempted to purchase 100 Diorissimo because that is more like a contour and glow shade. Otherwise, 257 Dioriviera does have a lovely pinky-peachy blush with a peachy highlighter.
