StyleKorean A+ Glam Box

StyleKorean A+ Glam Box

Where I got it

I have been shopping at StyleKorean a few times already this year (I’ve been a little obsessed with K-beauty recently), but this is my first StyleKorean box. Their box sets are truely amazing value for popular brand and products. This box contains 9 full-sized products including skincare and makeup. The box was a “time deal” therefore only for a limited time and was USD$ 39 plus $16.99 shipping to New Zealand. The value of this comes totals to USD $191! Besides one of the product that I have already tried and loved, all other products are new to me and something that has been on my radar to try.

How I find it

I have previously used the Medicube Zero Pore Pad 2.0 and loved it. I am happy to get a new tub in this box because I was waiting for a discount to repurhcase this. The pore pad is a great step after cleansing to gently clean out my pores. I use it on a daily basis, usually in the morning then I use a Vitamin C serum. I also like to wipe this on my chest and back when it is still damp to help with any cogestion on my body. Love it.

Next, the Round Lab Dokdo Cleansing Oil. I love and use a cleansing oil often to remove makeup and sunscreen. Round Lab is a brand that I have seen for years but have not yet tried. The brand appears to cater for sensitive skin, so their products are simple and gentle. But at the same time a bit more to be honest. However, so many people love their products so I was glad that Round Lab is in this box so I can finally try. I think  I would still be interested in trying out their serum or cream in the future, but let’s see how this goes first.

Another skincare product is the Numbuzin No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence SPF50+. Numbuzin is also a brand that I have seen popping up a lot and a brand I have been wanting to try. I had a quick look at the Numbuzin brand and the numbering system. It looks like the numbers refer to a different skincare function – for example toners and toners pads: N0.1 is for soothing and calming, No.2 is for hydrating, No.3 is for brightening and hydrating, No.4 toner is for hydrating and makeup prep, No.4 toner pad is for exfoliating and pore care and No.5 toner pad is for brightening.  Whereas for serums, there are numbers 1-9 for totally different functions in the toner range. This is also the same to cleanrser, creams, moisturisers and sunscreen range. I think it is super confusing and I would not be picking my Numbuzin products from numbering system.

Anyway, this N0.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence is ultra-lightweight, like a skincare essence. It is hydrating to the skin and feels weightless once applied. It leaves no white cast and no stickiness.

Something I have been wanting to try out is the Hince True Dimension Balm in #clear. This is a makeup item and is a dewy balm product in a stick. Much like the Chanel Baume Essentiel and I’m wondering if it would be a dupe for it. It comes in 4 shades and this one is #clear so it is a clear balm with no colour and no shimmer. Even the packaging looks like Chanel’s, except for the colour. The balm looks almost pearl-like, but applies transparent. Leaving only a gloss on the skin. It’s gorgeous I love it.

Next, is another product I’ve had in my cart for a few times but I just have not checked out – the Fwee Lip&Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot. I simply do not know which shade to choose because there are more than 20 shades to choose from and I have no access to real-time physical swatching.  This has also been very popular in Asia and is famous for it’s pudding-like texture, the blurring effect it has on the lips. Shade ND03 Without is in the nude shade range. In this box, we also have the keyring which you can scoop out product from your pot and have it on the go. So cute.

Beautiful shade that also works as a blush! The mousse-like texture actually reminds me of the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse (circa 2000s), but of course a lot more sophisticated (lol). It is a bit more jelly-like if you know what I mean, so it doesn’t come off in chunks and it has got a good bounce. The blurred effect on the lips makes it look so natural.

The next 3 products are something that I have not heard of so I have no expectations. I would say these are a good bonus from the box set. I am confident they are good products so I’m equally excited to try them out. The Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop Mascara appears to be a smudge-proof, tubing mascara. Removable with warm water. I have oily eye lids and the combination of short lashes and hooded eyelids makes it really hard to use just any mascara. Even the waterproof ones will melt or crumble or just migrate to my undereye area. However, I was surprised with this mascara because it lasted all day without any smudging, melting or crumbling. The application was clean and smooth, not clumping and my lashes fanned out nicely. Pleasantly surprised with this one.

The Luna Long Lasting Tip Concealer Cover-fit SPF34. Right off the bat, this shade is too light for me. I have sort of expected it because Koreans have very light skin tone and if they were to put a concealer in a “one size fits all” box, it would have to be something that would suit the majority of their target market. This shade is about 2 shades too light for my complexsion, but since it is a concealer, I usually go for something that is 1 shade lighter. I’m just glad that it is in the right tone for me, not too pink and not too yellow. It is fairly neutral.

The packaging of this reminds me of NARS and the coverage is very similar. It is moisturising and long -lasting as it claims to be. It does blend out quite nicely and is pigmented. It covers up my dark circles very well but it can get a little cakey if I apply too much.

Finally, the Tocobo Vita Glazed Lip Mask. I have yet to open this up to try because I am still on my old lip mask and have more backups to go through. So I won’t be able to review this now. But 20ml of this stuff, I’m sure it will last me a few months if not a year because I only use lip masks at night and when I feel my lips are so dry and flakey.

Overall

I am so excited about this box because it is amazing value for money. I have been wanting to restock the Medicube Zero Pore pads and have been wanting to try the SPF and the Hince Balm and the Fwee Pudding Pot! So happy that I got to try so many new things for this price. Highly recommend that you check out StyleKorean for their next box (already out) for some amazing deals!
