Where I got it
I picked up a bunch of VT Cosmetic products from StyleKorean a little while ago and I am slowly getting through the products. In this blog post, I will be reviewing the PDRN Essence Glow Sun Pact and it was USD $24.00 from StyleKorean.com.
What I got
This is the VT Cosmetics PDRN Essence Glow Sun Pact SPF50+ PA+++ (109g).
- PDRN takes care of the condition of the skin stimulated by UV rays that are exposed daily.
- Strong UV protection on the outside and strong PDRN care on the inside.
- PDRN, synonymous with high humidity glow, completes moist, transparent skin.
- Easy sun care anytime, anywhere.
- PDRN extracted from wild ginseng.
How I find it
After my first experience with k beauty sun pacts (VT Cosmetics as well, but the Cica Essence version. Link to review here), I was highly skeptical with tone-up sun screen products. This one here also comes in a clear compact and the product inside is white in colour. I pick up the product by using the applicator and just wipe over the top with a bit of pressure. There are no mesh over the product, unlike a cushion foundation, it is more of a balm so you cannot pick up anything by light pressing.
The applicator picks up a light layer of product and applies on the back of the hand quite sheer – so far so good. It is not an opaque white layer like the Cica Essence version, but it does have a light brightening effect on the skin and a dewy effect.
As you can see, the tone-up effect is mild, but there is certainly a glow. It has no coverage and does not even skin tone, but it provides a fresh layer of sun protection. The more you layer on, the more obvious the tone-up effect gets so I am mindful not to apply too much. The formula is moisturising, but not sticky or slippery.
Overall
I have been really enjoy using this sun pact and I am already seeing pan! I was a little surprised to see how fast I have hit pan, but I was also surprised to see how little product there is in the compact. I found myself reaching for this in the middle of the day, before I head out for a walk and do school pick ups. I quickly blot my face with tissue paper (usually with no makeup or with just BB cream) and then go straight into the sun pact. I would apply with stamping motion over whatever is on my face. When I have makeup, I can see that my makeup comes off a little bit on the applicator, but it’s not too bad, but I also see that the sun pact does remove my blush a little bit, but adds more dewiness on my face.
In my personal opinion, if I were to reapply sunscreen on top of makeup, I would use a cushion foundation with SPF instead of a sun pact with no coverage. Then reapply powder and any blush and highlighter than has faded away. Anyway, what I want to say is that I would take this to the beach, to holiday where I’m not wearing a lot of makeup, but I still want a good glow on my skin and making sure my skin is hydrated and moisturised during the day.
