Where I got it

I have been interested in this brand for a long time and I’ve been looking everywhere for a good price or a good sale. Their official website has a really good discount most of the time, but shipping to New Zealand was expensive and I ended up giving up my cart.

Until I came across some good prices on Amazon and I was feeling like treating myself. I honestly forgot how much these were when I got them, but I can link them below.

What I got

The items here are from d’Alba Piedmont Double Serum All-in-one Multi Balm (10g), White Truffle First Spray Serum (30ml), and the White Truffle Double Serum & Cream (70g).

Double Serum All In One Multi Balm (10g). The ultimate vegan double serum ratio for wrinkle, brightening, and moisturizing treatment. 85:15 ratio of moisturizing and elasticity care serum and brightening serum that provides glowing skin. Wrinkle improvement, whitening, elasticity care, moisture, brightening, and nourishment all done in one stick. Vegan-certified, non-sticky, and lightweight formula. Travel-friendly.

How I find it

I have been so excited to try everything from d’Alba and the first impression of their products is the packaging is simple and elegant. The gold and black text against the white background is effortlessly chic. I am biased maybe? Let’s get on with the products.

Let’s have a look at the All in One Multi Balm first. This is their double serum in a convenient twist-up stick. It has the serum in the core (yellow), and the cream around the perimeter (white). The stick form is great for when you are on the go, or on the plane, etc. It contains the same benefits as the double serum and cream in the same range for intense moisture, hydration, for brightening and plumping of the skin. The formula is not super soft, but does melt onto the skin without the need for pulling or rubbing. If you travel a lot or tends to have dry patches during the day, this would be great to touch up on specific areas. This also looks amazing as a glowing balm to the high points of the cheeks.

Next, we have the First Spray Serum. This product is, I think what made the brand so popular, and viral. Again, we see the dual-phase system here. The clear serum and the golden oil-serum. The perfect concoction of oil and water-based serum not only provides hydration, but also moisture and protection from the oil phase. This spray serum can be used before and after moisturiser, and even during the day to freshen up. Just 2-3 spritz all over the face is all that I need to get that light layer of moisture and glow. If you have dry skin, this could be great before makeup or immediately after to give you that amazing glow.

Finally, the Double Serum & Cream. This product continues to bring that dual-phase system by separating the serum and the cream in one jar. The lid opens up to a clear lid to separate the two formulas – golden aqua serum, and the intense cream. There are suggested mixture ratios on the box packaging for oily skin, combination skin, and dry skin. The aqua serum is almost gel-like and lightweight. It provides a nice layer of hydration with a beautiful glow on the skin. The intense cream is a very moisturising with a medium thickness. It’s not as thick as a balm, but it is comforting and soothing like a balm. The finish is silky and smooth on the skin and leaves your skin looking radiant.

You can mix the serum and cream before applying, or you can apply the serum and then the cream on top. Either way they feel the same and the finish is the same. My skin looks so dewy and plump overnight and I absolutely love this serum/cream combination.

Overall

I am very pleased with d’Alba products so far. They are nourishing and moisturising, probably more popular with normal to dry skin or if your skin is dehydrated or mature. I have combination skin that can often be a little dehydrated. When my skin is dehydrated, it tends to feel dry but also look oily because my skin is trying to produce oil to compensate for the dryness. With d’Alba’s products I am able to keep my skin hydrated and moisturised at the same time. The First Spray Serum is great for on-the-go hydration with an oil layer to provide protection and prevent that hydration from evaporating right away. I prefer to use the Double Serum and Cream at nighttime because it is slightly thicker and takes longer to sink into my skin, which would make my skin look super greasy especially during summer time.

I would not use all of these products in a single skincare routine because that would be too heavy for my skin type. The spray serum is good to use with any existing skincare routine so I have been using this regularly – right after toner pads, and right after makeup application if I prefer a dewy finish (light layers only). I would take the serum stick to travel, so it would go into my bag for touch-up when I needed it. I would also take it with me if I am going to the beach or the pool where I might be cleaning my face and would need something moisturising afterwards. As for the double serum and cream, this would be my serum and moisturiser step as the last step in my evening skincare routine. Especially for the winter months.
